Does Mitsubishi make a limited or special edition of the Evo?

I recently purchased a 370z 40th Anniversary edition. However, I would like a vehicle such as the EVO for the winter. Are there currently any similar anniversary or limited models?

Mitsubishi doesn't do anniversary editions but as for limited edition models, you can look in the MR Touring Edition which packs a few more features over the standard MR or GSR.

I thought there was a 2010 "SE" model. There's a registry for it on this forum somewhere

There is a special editions... SE. MR Touring came out only on 2010 and the only Evo X version of SE on 2010 as well. There were SE's on other evos but Mr Touring is the most "exclusive" you will get.

Visual wise, there is no difference between a 2011 MR with mr tourings options but once you run the vin it is an MR TOURING not MR.

I never understood why Mitsu came out with the SE. I guess they made too many SST tranny's and need to get rid of some more. The SE was basically a GSR with the SST, with a couple MR features thrown in there..

Mitsi aren't big on limited models. The only ones I can think of are EVO 6 Tommi Makinen Edition and EVO 9 wagon, 2500 produced of each.

But as far as USDM goes, I think the SE is as far as Mitsi went.

Ooo... I always forget about the IX wagon. That would be sweet to have one of those. Yours is awesome..

I'm glad they did. SST transmission, split front rotors, Bilsteins and just a lip instead of a spoiler on the trunk. All you need, nothing you don't .

Not to mention the SE was priced 2k below the MR, and with end of year incentives in 2010 SE's were going for nearly 30k OTD. The 2011 MR's are basically the SE's *minus* a few features (heated seats) and it still retails for 37k for the base model. I also own an SE...

Anyway, I am almost 100% sure that Mitsubishi will have another special edition Evo X in 2012 to celebrate the final model year. Either that or to celebrate the 20 year anniversary.

Other than the Evo X SE for the US, there's a limited Ralliart edition being sold in Japan and the Middle East (and possibly elsewhere) and a Bathhurst edition for Australia.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the FQ-400 for the UK is also limited w/numbered plaques.

And if you get AMS to do a 900x conversion, that would probably be considered pretty damn special as well.

If all that is of utmost importance, why buy a Mitsubishi Evolution? I mean, the MR-T still has the same hard, brittle plastics covering its interior as every other X, still has the creaks and rattles driven by the same, still has the small-displacement turbo motor that needs to be kept on the boil, still has the relatively unforgiving suspension,...but...with a few superficial touches of luxury and a whole lot of weight. It's not a luxury car, and it's not an adrenalin pump. Talk about a lack of focus.
