Yet another issue with Mitsu......

I swear, every experience (other than car itself) has been horrible... Ranging from 2 dealers, ordering, buying, titles, etc... The list goes on.... On Thursday I added a new one. A Mitsu Service department.... To try not make the story that long, I will sum it up. I went in for a oil change. Car was done, and I started making my way home. I looked through paper work while I was at some lights (because I trust nobody). Paper work didn't specify which oil was used, and my oil trip wasn't reset in car so I did a U turn back. I talked to the tech who actually worked on my car about the trip and oil used. Yup, he didn't use full synthetic oil.... And the thing that really pisses me off is that it wasn't a mistake. He knew all the labels on car say ONLY SYNTHETIC. But I guess he thinks he knows better. I could maybe expect this at a independant garage shop, but I don't expect this crap from Mitsu... Obviously I didn't leave until I got FULL SYNTHETIC and trip reset. And, they just lost my business..... If I can't trust them to do a oil change correctly, then wtf..........

Sucks to hear. Mitsu dealers are a hit or miss (as it is with other manufacturers). The mitsu dealer I go to has an "Evo specialist" only that person is allowed to work on an evo.

the two mitsu dealers in calgary are both like this. they either orver charge for service or they don't know how to do the service.. or in the case of hyatt they are not open on weekends. which makes it nearly impossible for anyone to bring their car in during the week.

i've been trying to do any of the service my self or at a local performace shop that charges 25$ an hour less than mitsu. if my dad trusts them with his car i'm not worried with mine.

these dealers need to step up. and either do a super high quality job, offering loaners and extra free services such as car washes + vaccuming / detailing along their high priced service.. or lower the service prices + still do a great job.

Personally I dont see the deal with going to mitsubishi for anything unless its a broken sensor or something let alone an oil change. I would personally make sure that they do not get my business and by you spreading the word you are doing a good job at that. Never go to the dealer always try to do it yourself it you can or take it to a shop that you can always come out of pocket if you can because dealing with them your just asking for headaches.

Yeah some of the dealerships are a major rip-off sometimes its best to have at it yourself unless you had a honda.

Mitsu. dealers are garbage. You're better off going to a specialist shop. Sorry to hear this!

Only reason I went the the dealer was they gave me a free oil change coupon. I like the idea of having a service record at the dealer but its really not worth it for me and I'd rather do it myself.

In all honesty---you should be changing your own oil... Taking it in to get it done, well lets just say I would be checking the level before I asked what oil was used--not what you ever want to do.

Only reason I go is because of the record upkeep also.... I would be just fine working on it. I do all the servicing on my Delorean. I just don't want any hassle if something should go wrong and Mitsu not uphold the warranty. Even though something did go wrong by going to the dealer. hahahaha...

I have to admit, my Chevrolet experience was way better with my vette........

It crossed my mind to get my oil changed when mitsu dealer sent me a free oil change for my first one. I then said ney!! its not worth it I have always changed my own oil and will continue to change it. Not to hijack the thread but I took each wheel off my 1 month old evo to get all season tires put on don't trust anyone trained or not if you want it done right do it yourself.

They did the same thing when I took mine in for the first oil change. Except I had it in for 3k miles because I didn't know. I only found out when I went back for the second one and it cost twice as much. They charged something like $6/quart for the first time non-synthetic and $13/quart the second time for synthetic. I do my own oil changes now.

I usually bring my own oil when the dealer changes it so i know that they use the right stuff. And also, its a lot cheaper. They charge about $10 a quart for mobil 1 but at walmart its like $23 for the big 5 quart jug. I had one of those free oil change coupons, i guess its a good thing i lost it. Plus my friend is a VW tech at the dealer i go to, so atleast i have some one on the inside looking out for me.
