convince me im doing the right thing, or tell me im wrong!
I have a 2003 TB Evo 8 and now own a 2008 WW Evo X.
I made 1 more hp and 65 ft/lbs more torque on the same dyno. My 8 had cams, bolt ons, a IX turbo, fuel pump, injectors, and bolt ons and my Evo X only has bolt ons.
More power, for less.
The car out handles the 8 any day of the week, and is twice the car when it comes to quality.
I'm happy with my Evo X. They are nicer cars (interior and exterior), and they are much nicer to live with.. Bang for the buck the X is a great car.
A short shifter and some lowering springs will definitely get you to that "rawness" that the evo 8 and 9 had. Boost comes on way harder in the X and to be honest I do not even realize the difference in weight. ****, sitting in my 8 and then going to my X I probably wouldn't notice a difference with a blindfold on between shfting and steering feel.

This would be sweet..
I love my X. It is everything that I need in a car. It's my DD.
The X responds better to mods than the VIII/IX's, I would say. You will see bigger gains, numbers wise, but the car is heavier so it's gonna take a little bit more to be the same. The X handles better, but the previous gens just have that special "raw" feeling to them. I've had a VIII, own a X, and I'm very happy with the car. It just depends what you want. The X is a little more refined, but has alot of the same excitement/fun things that we all loved about the VIII/IX's.

i was debating a used ix or a new x...one of the smartest decisions i made (financially) was buying my evo used. i'd be out about $10k by now if i bought the x. market value for the ix, i would probably barely take a loss. love just about everything about it and happy with it.
