brake fluid leaking - warranty help

long story short... brake fluid started leaking at 4500 miles ... took it to the dealership, they said it was fixed but it's still leaking. Not sure but based on past experiences i might be in for a battle here.

Any tips on what could be the source of the problem? I just want to appear more knowlegable next time i bring the car in so that i'll have more "fighting power"

Thanks

only 4500 miles???

Go in there next time and tell them about the lemon law, they will scare the **** out of them as they will be forced to get you a brand new car after 6 tries of fixing the car.

The problem could be as simple as a leak on the hose or not plugged in all the way... When it comes to troubleshooting I go extremely basic, kinda like computers because when you know a lot about something small tiny little details are often forgotten...

There is nothing to fight about, if you have a leak, they'll fix it, simple as that. You're in Dallas...take it to Don Herring Mitsu in Irving, they're the Evo specialists around here.

Where is it leaking from? Have you confirmed it is brake fluid or are you just guessing?

yeah, don't worry. They get paid by Mits to do the warranty work, there is no reason for them to not do it.

Always be cool with your dealership, you're going to need them to want to help you, and you will likely be in there again.

from many, many bad experiences with dealerships i guess i've just developed a sort of crazy defense mechanism whenever i have to deal with the service dept... lol..

yes, i've refilled the brake fluid reservoir (fully!) twice now and i can see drips and splatters around the master cylinder. The drops fall under the engine where the master cylinder is.

i'm pretty ticked that they would just top off the reservoir, wipe the oil off and call it "fixed", but that's pretty typical i guess

i took it to don herring plano- a dealership i have come to respect ... i guess my car got stuck with a lazy mechanic. dealerships skimping on warranty work isn't such a big shocker to me though.

if they give me more problems i'll check out irving, thanks for the tip.
