Buick Grand National

So..... a dealer close to me just got there hands on a very nice 1986 Grand National. Wants to sell it for 10 G's out the door. Car is in great shape, last owner did a good amount of work to it. Runs, no issues, paint is still good.
Some specs:

EXTREMELY FAST 1986 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL. MODIFIED TO BASICALLY BE A RACE CAR!! Trans. 200/4/R- good for 800+ HP!! Coan 9.5" torque converter 4000 Stall HD Trans Cooler ROH 17 x 8.5" Cross drilled front rotors. ATR 3" downpipe w/ dual waste gates. Deltagate turbo controller 2.5" stainless exhaust Flowmaster delta flow mufflers. HD driveshaft w/ safety loop. Dual fuel pumps. LT1 mass air flow sensor w/ translator plus. Scanmaster III Stock block .20 over Arp main studs. Aluminum radiator. Drive train: 6 cylinders. POWER OPTIONS: locks, mirrors, driver's seat, brakes and steering. DASHBOARD OPTIONS: tilt steering wheel, AM/FM/CD. EXTERIOR: Rear window defrost. INTERIOR: passive restraints, interval wipers.

So.. on to the question..

I have been looking for a good condition grand national for the past 5-6 years without any luck. Its tough to get one that's even running, or in any good condition for anything less than 18k min.

The dealer is willing to part with it at 10k.. Either he wants it off the lot, or he doesn't know what he has on his lot.

I got the chance to swing over there and check it out for myself. It is in immaculate condition. I am almost considering making a purchase but...

1. i think its going to be another money pit.
2. you think i can purchase and resell for allot higher?
3. Is it worth it?
4. Comments anyone?

I don't follow the GN market, but a friend of mine has one and as far as I know real GNs are going for a lot more than that in clean condition.

on a Buick forum im going to get a biased opinion. Now, obviously im on an mitsu forum, which again might have a biased opinion. but... i will probably get more hits like " i have a friend of a friends, cousins, uncles, former roommate, and he said its a nice vehicle" comments

<sigh> They're the folks who own, drive, mod, fix, race the cars and are essentially the only people who can give you a good rundown on the parts installed on the car and their impact. Biased, okey-dokey. Evo forum is better.

X General is for Evo X tech.
If you'd like to ask Evom, please use the Other Cars forum. Thanks.
