If you are heading to the track and the splitter is part of your aero dynamic package then you need to be more sensitive to the install, angle, strength, and mounting. I race with and am sponsored by APR Performance, and think they have great products, but we've learned that to make them really perform on the track as a device to create downforce, you need to take some time and find a race shop to help you get the install right. So, do some thinking about what you want. For ours, EFI Logics fabricated a custom solution with rails and a gurney flap in back, adjustible rods (along with the APR rods) and Alumalite backing to make a system we can adjust for different tracks strong enough to stand on. Does it create downforce that improves braking and turn in? You bet it does. Just a thought.

I am installing this APR splitter as part of Aero package for my track Evo x. I run long tracks like NJMP, Glen, Pocono, Monticello... Can you share some install pictures so that I can see the brace/mounting points you had to fasten it to for track use? I would like to see what kind of fabrication I will need to do to get this thing installed the right way to help with handling.

I sent you a PM on this. As I said, it's a pretty big process.

Hey there... I too am looking to install a splitter as a part of my aero package. Is there somewhere (i.e. website or thread) that you can direct me to on how to install it properly? Obviously having a race shop would be ideal but with some instruction Im sure I can get this done myself?

Are the APR installation instructions not good enough (regarding angle and strength) for racing?

Thanks!

That post was like 2 years old, just use rivets and some double sided tape as it should work fine. As far as angle unless you have a wind tunnel there more or less going to be for looks more then any real aero change. So don't worry to much about that.

I'm pretty sure all the time attack, time trial and racers don't have it on "for looks." Johnr352 seems to know exactly what I'm looking for hence why I asked him and revived this thread.

Thanks!

Well unless you are driving a stripped down purpose built evo the placement of those canards will be just that for looks. If your really trying to shave a few seconds off lap times your best bet is usually just seat time will be your best bet! Either way good luck !

You're right.... I should never do any performance mods to my car and just get more seat time.

I think your missing my point... canards are not performance mods unless you have a racecar man, what your looking at putting on your car will be just for looks they will not add any noticeable difference to your handling characteristics under your everyday driving or even backroads... but w/e...

Dude let it got a splitter is not a performance mod unless you do a lot more work to attach it to the frame of the car. The APR one is 99% looks get over it... if you think its going to make you faster then just do it sheesh..

Umm I know that hence why I asked Johnr352. He mentioned he has done it properly and I asked HIM whats involved. Dude, I think you need to either read the entire thread or you let it go.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...cs-review.html here is some better info to help you understand what you would have to do to make a proper splitter.
