Rear seat belt info
Anyone know how to get to the rear seat belt mechanism in the back seats? My kid locked up the seat belt retractor this morning. He did it in my Ralliart too but that was easier to get to. Besides trading in my kid, any suggestions?

Locked as in he pulled it out and now it won't fully retract. I'm assuming he pulled it out way to far and it got twisted somehow when he let go and that's why the seat belt won't fully retract. I don't feel like fully removing panels to get to the seat belt retractor if I don't know exactly how to remove them. With the Ralliart I could get to it from the trunk. There's just a little more bracing and the panel that covers the battery and washer resovour that makes things even more interesting. I might just have the dealer fix it. I would think that can be handled as a warranty claim.

^ Lovely. I wonder if this is a problem with Mitsubishi's seat belt assembly they use in these cars? Like I said, this happened in my Ralliart also but I was able to get to it and fix it myself. It's probably the same part for the Evo, Ralliart, and all Lancers for that matter.
You're going to have to remove the top plastic piece. You might need to remove the back part of the rear seat first. I already had mine out.
-remove two plastic push clips
-go into trunk. There are 3 white squeeze clips you need to squeeze and press up
-loosen/remove the pillar covers
-just pull the giant back cover up.
There was one more squeeze thing that i guess I didn't see, but just pulling up hard around the area where I felt the cover was still attached worked just fine
