So I just had a Do Luck FRP trunk installed and it looks great! However, the auto body shop that did the install said I need a new trunk lid lift support that works for 15-20 lb. aftermarket trunks. Apparently, the stock trunk lift is incompatible with lighter aftermarket trunks. Does anyone know where I can buy the 15-20 lb. trunk lift support? Any help would be appreciated.

 

there's plenty of guys on here that have installed the do-luck without having to switch or mod anything else.

 

Would it make a difference if I said I had the Do Luck installed on my Ralliart? If not, does that mean the auto body shop is misleading me?

 

shouldnt make a difference but i had a CF trunk on my prelude, only difference was it wouldnt pop up as high when pushing the trunk release due to the hinges being heavier then the damn truck LOL, but i can still lift it as high and it would stay perfect.

I know of few people who have installed CF trunks with stock lifters without any issues. Doluck trunk has internal structure, so I don't think it would crack your hood because of the lift etc.
