I had agency power CB fed by a cobb HFC, and it was fine in the city, but hell on the highway. If you plan on traveling any distance with this thing at 80 mph, forget about it. The drone of the exhaust almost puts you to sleep. It's easy to keep the X revved low enough to avoid the 3k RPM loudness around police, but the highway is where you will want to pull your ears off.

Had my EVO since 05 living in manhattan and Queens Iv been to every criminal court in all the 5 boroughs total of 10 tickets in a span of 3 years before I moved and even today I need a Pba card to get off the hook. When I present my silencer to the judge they let me go only had to pay once $50 charge. It's hit or miss my girl friend had a Fujitsubo Legals R very quite exhaust on her own evo8 still got bagged with a unreasonable noise exhaust ticket if it's aftermarket it's illegal in NYC plain an simple.

If you want to be loud and obnoxious, get an exhaust that's slightly louder than stock and add a cut-out. That way you can be obnoxious when you want, and quiet the rest of the time.

I guess i'll chime in...

ETS 3" V2 Extreme w/o resonator
AMS Widemouth DP
AMS TP

...so yeah, pretty much "straight-piped-out"

I live in Jersey but every so often I take a ride with the X into the city for a short while of mostly driving. I've never been bothered by any cops in NYC, and you know there are like massive amounts of them spread throughout the streets. They never seem to care. You'd have to be doing something pretty stupid in order to get the attention of an NYPD cop for the most part. They're pretty much laid back or just don't give a ****.
Though, when I'm going in thru the tunnels, I tend to drive in a manner where my exhaust isn't making too much noise...low rpms, etc. Usually, the cops at the entrances are pretty much on high alert and might have an issue with it if provoked.
Hope that helps.
