Mod advice for a spirited daily driver

Hi Guys:

I see a ton of posts about modding for massive horsepower and hitting the track.

I'm curious about what those of us who will rarely, if ever, go to the track but want a hair on fire commute (at least when traffic isn't bad). Specifically, I put a high premium on 0-50 time and rarely go above 60mph. I'm looking to maximize that initial go-kart acceleration and fast cornering than high speed straightaway stuff.

Does the recommended mod path look different for the wild daily driver? Right now I've got the ETS V2 Quiet exhaust system and thinking of maybe intake and a tune but maybe I'm off the reservation and there are much better mods to consider given my priorities?

Appreciate the advice! Happy Holidays :-)

Get a full Turbo-back, you'll enjoy the deeper better resonance, in addition to the 10-15 HP it'll give you. Stainless steel brakelines are really nice, make the brake pedal really stiff and responsive.

What is your longevity or mileage goal? Without knowing that, it's not a good idea to randomly throw out ideas if you want your car to last ~10 years or even more.

Thx steve. I plan on having the car for 3-5 years and rarely put more than 6K miles a year on the car. Don't need it to last forever but also would like to minimize repairs over the course of my ownership.

hit 400 whp and call it for DD.

I will not suggest you a manufacturer and its all personal but here are 4 of them that I have use(d) AMS, COBB, ETS, MAP (alphabetical order not preference). Efficiency of the vehicle is key for power, some mods while not giving you "omg over 9000 whp/wtq" they support the ones that do give you that.

How to achieve 400?

-Turbo (you can always go bigger to make it easier to reach your goal but the bigger you go the slower everything spools which is NOT my style thus I will not suggest you that. Not to mention that the faster you spool the better it is for spirited driving IMO).
-Stock intercooler supports up to 450-500 hp I believe but you need to replace this asap. You will gain 15-20 just from this with a protune.
-Change your upper and lower intercooler piping with the IC.
-BOV
-Air intake, whether cold air intake or not... still will breathe A LOT better than the stock.
-Injectors 1000cc (you can do 1100cc if you want)
-fuel pump 255 (the size is perfect, I have 400 and its way too big for pump and e85)
-Throttle body
-Intake manifold
-exhaust manifold
-Full turbo back. ei: downpipe + testpipe (if it is dump o2 downpipe you will gain 10-15 more whp than recirculated or widemouth but that 10-15 isnt worth it for the vibration and loudness. For the test pipe go with highflow or straight doesnt matter).
-Cams and valve springs (even though they are NOT necessary to hit 400 whp as Kracka's GSR did hit 400 on ef2 turbo WITHOUT cams, they still give you quite the boost to help you hit it)

Right now I am drawing blank... These are all I can remember right now lol. Good luck on hitting your goal.

Do you have access to E85 or just pump? Intake, TBE, fuel system and an E85 tune netted me with 407whp on stock turbo/intercooler/clutch and 465whp with our EF2 turbocharger

love it nice and simple awesome power and just incase you want to go stock one day not to much work.
I spent a little more and got the accesport as well with the custom tune, just incase i want to go to dealer and stuff i could always bring it back to stock tune and re tune it again whenever i want to.

agreed ...modding to stay below 60? really buy a prius

suspension wise if you don't have the MR get a hold of the OEM bilsteins and put some springs on there.

Springs, exhaust, tune. Maybe an intake if you like the sound, but even that probably not worth much low(er) horsepower.

What kind of fuel system we talking here lol? Even with e85 I made 348/371 with my setup (which is under the garage within my profile)... Not trying to start anything, trying to learn Gonna get the rest of my power mods next week from Adam just so you know my stance with MAP
