K&N hands down. Comes with the turbo inlet pipe, filter, upper ic pipe, all hardware, fittings, tubing and extranious components neccesary. it sounds absolutely badass, and i got mine for $268 shipped off some motorsport site (just gotta search a bit). and best of all - no cel.

forgot to add; the K&N comes with a very nice, clean, and effective heatshield partial box enclosure as well

Seriously.
That is far too expensive. A $500's detector plus a $500's laser jammer is enough.

Oh this is an awesome thread! Bookmarking this for when I get my Evo - I want a fun DD, with the very occasional track day (maybe 3-5 times a year)

Out of all these suggestions on here, most importantly no matter what you go with i would suggest a tune whether it be from an AP or a GOOD tuner. Making sure you keep your car running properly and since its a DD good MPGs

boltons, fp green or map ef2.

Change your spark plugs every 10-15k miles and check them every oil change.

I guess at 67,000 miles I should check my plugs? I finally got my first set special ordered from Advanced (cheaper than other parts tores) but they're sitting in my console storage slot waiting for me to get around to putting them in.

And I'm getting 26-28mpg on the highway driving it like a normal car. Wowser.

I got a pretty nice DD setup.

UR Turbo back with HF cat (single muffler)
UR Intercooler and U/L pipes
UR intake
UR Motor mounts
/tune

IMHO its 100% Daily drivable and im super happy with the setup.

Loved my UR O2/DP ... until it went 'whiff whiff whiff" followed by "vroom vroom VROOM". The welds aren't sturdy, sort of "infamous" for blowing apart. But 'til then, it was the sexiest pissing and farting noises around. I still like the UR HFC unit. But then again, it's not got as many curves and welds to hold together, and the exploding pipe happened at an advanced track day with some pretty long and pretty close-together sessions.
