Does anyone know what this black box does behind the rear seats?

i got one in the cabin fuse box it's like a gps transponder...but this one is new.

there is bar code. try to scan that with your iphone or android phone.

ive got a 08 sss GSR and mine has nothing of that sort in the fuse box area . i actually put my obdII in there so my tactrix dosent get kicked when data loging.

It's the receiver antenna assembly. It receives operation signals from lock/unlock, trunk lid, and panic buttons on the ignition key (transmitter), as well as tire pressure signal from tpms transmitter. Then, transmits all of them to WCM.

^ I believe that is the Event Data Recorder that records information before and during an accident.

@ AK47..

Yeah, yours looks identical to this one (except theirs was in the center console). They looked up the part number, and it was a LoJack receiver.

Pretty crappy of the installer to put the LoJack box _there_. I'd call 'em up and have them reinstall it somewhere you won't happen across it.
