Good brand for windshield wipers?
I have cheap duralast wipers on evo, they work good for the money. I used to have streaky wipers even with a new set. I cleaned the window really really well. I found little little bits of ??? On window that seemed to line up with pattern of the streaks. I got it all off with fingernail and vinegar. I then put bottle of p21s wiper stuff in with window wash, have not had streaking problem since. My wifes car has bosch wipers and they are hands down the better wiper, they are molded, so at speed air forces down on the wiper blade creating better contact on the window ( so the box states) I do notice a difference. I believe the rubber compound plays a part in wiper performance. Btw i think they are bosch icons

Got the PIAA blades here - http://www.perrinperformance.com/mit...ilicone-wipers
I use Trico beam blades and get at least one year of use from any car I install them on.
As for washer fluid, I buy the finest stuff Advance Auto sells, and I get good results.
I don't know how well Trico beam blades or premium washer fluid works in snow, because there is no snow where I live.

I have used the Bosch Icon and they are great for a few months like others have said. They seem to wear very quick. Too quick in my opinion, especially to justify the price.
The driver side always seems to streak way before the others wear out too. I hate it.
I have used the Rain-X Latitude and some standard Anco brand blades. They work fine for the monsoon rains we get here.
It doesn't snow or get SUPER cold here so I can't attest to the cold temperature operation.

Thanks for making this thread. One of my OEM wipers has already started to come apart so it's time for new ones.
Have gotten the Rain-X wipers twice in the past for other cars and have love them. Wondering if I should just stick with them since I was happy with them or see if anyone here thinks otherwise.

There's alot of reasons your wipers will do this:
-buildup on windshield
-buildup on wiper
-wiper not aligned with windshield curvature
-wiper motor too fast/slow for wiper
-poor wiper mechanism pattern
-wiper material not suited for condition
-wiper material cheap
-contaminated wiper fluid
-not using wipers early or often enough
Usually when you have streaky wipers, it's a culmination of a alot of things, some having to do with the car, some with the wiper itself, and other times it's user error.
FWIW, I've never found a end all wiper that never streaked, lasted for a long time, and didn't cost a arm and a leg on any vehicle. I've tried a lot of different brands and they all do it to some extent or another, with very little correlation to $$ spent. I have noticed a big difference buying the more expensive washer fluid ($2.00-$3.00/gal vs. $0.99/gal) and just being more liberal with the fluid in general. I use enough fluid to not only clean the wiper and the windshield, but enough for whatever grime/debris is built up after the wipe, to run down the windshield or all over the side of my car.
End of the day, wipers are a wear and tear item, that should be replaced fairly often, more often than most people would think, unfortunately.

Living here in Seattle, WA we get a little bit of rain (~250-300 days per year). But not very much ice/snow.
My favorite blades are the Trico Teflon blades. And now they finally have the convex style with the teflon blade.

This has been my hands-down favorite.

Anyone know where I can physically buy valeo wipers? On the road right now and need to replace mine badly(one wiper just split and is finally coming apart)? Went on their site and they don't have a distributor list. Can't call because they're closed. Anyone please?
I had Rain-X latitudes and they were OK. They were horrible in snow, clogged and iced up all the time. I recently switched to Bosch Icons and so far they are the best blade i've ever had. No streaks, great with snow and slush, and they have a nice lo-pro look, highly recommended.
Ended up getting some RainX Latitudes w/RainX washer fluid. Good stuff. But next time I have to stop procrastinating when I need new wipers so they don't fall apart on me like they did today forcing me to have to get ripped off at the store.
I stumbled upon this thread so why not add something..........
I havent changed the wipers on any of my cars in the last 3 years. Not since finding deal extreme and this little product.

All it is essentially: sand paper in a groove shape.
I lost that gadget like four weeks later, but about once a year I sand down very gently the outer edge of the wiper blade contact point and re-moisten it with rainX fluid........... LOL it may sound cheap but it works really well. If you cant find RainX just use a dab of wd-40 to moisten up the blade after sanding.
Thought I would add that little tip if anyone cares for it.
