Maybe this might help. Seems like the 2011+ do make a difference.

Not to be a dick, but please don't post $hit like that without proof; some n00b will read this post and start either posting elsewhere on this forum about it or talking about it at the next meet because he "heard about it from someone."

That being said, if this topic has been discussed before and I've just missed it, then I apologize.
I understand your point and at the same time I'm not a damn link encyclopedia. Its on the forums search for it yourself. He asked a question I responded in kind with what I knew off the top of my head. There's plenty of build threads on here where people sent their blocks in to erl or ams and received a new updated block with the eliminated timing chain oil nozzle. Look at other posts I've done I don't just spout **** off.

I've tried searching. Perhaps I'm just bad with the search function. Could you point me in the direction of where you heard/read the information that Mitsubishi eliminated the nozzle in the 2012 engines?

Wow. $35,000 OTD is a steal in my opinion for that car.

How much were you looking to get for the '08? How much more do you owe on it? If it's been 3-4 years since you bought it, $19,200 is a pretty good deal (if you removed your aftermarket components and sold them separately).

your better off selling privately instead of trading in. The loyalty $500 incentive isn't worth it.

also in the GSR, the 2008 had faulty differential pins. it's a $1500 fix.

^This

If I'm not mistaken usually a brand new fully loaded X is 38-40 grand?

For a base model 08 I think I'd be pretty happy with 19,200. I'd be happy if I could get 21 grand from the dealer for my fully loaded 08 with similar miles. Remember that the dealer has to turn around and sell it for a profit, and it needs to be at a price that won't be sitting in the lot forever.

Based on your first post, you mentioned that Mitsubishi eliminated the nozzle for the 2012 model year. Then in your second post you said there are build threads all over where people sent in their blocks for an engine build and received a block without a nozzle.

First of all, those two posts have anything to do with each other. What a tuner/builder does has nothing to do with what Mitsubishi does. (Unless I misunderstood your post. If I did, I apologize.)

Second of all, the danger of a stretched chain impacting the nozzle is something covered in Mitsubishi training videos from the beginning of the Evo X's introduction for the 2008 model year.

So far, I have found nothing in my research regarding Mitsubishi removing the nozzle in 2012. I am happy to be proven wrong, but I have found nothing despite the fact you made it seem that information was readily available. I know you said you're not a search engine, but I thought this was a forum where people are supposed to help each other.

Let me clarify! They want to sell me an 11 s/s and s/l for 35 otd and that including my trade in. I owe 15777 and they offered me 19,200. So roughly 3500 towards the 11. So I'm still paying 38500 for a leftover 11 otd. If I go through with it I will bring my car back to stock. For 38500 I'm thinking about just shelling out for a 11 335ix. Thoughts?

We just build a brand new engine not even a year ago. I am not sure what are you talking about. Also i am still having problem to understand the timing chain strech(mine was perfect after 14kth miles. And the oil noze caused catastrofic failure....

Please elaborate more with some genuine links and documents.
I am genuinely interested as well.

If you buy a 335 I would get the RWD unless you live somewhere with snow. BMW AWD is not like Evo or WRX AWD as far as performance and handling goes etc. The 335 will have a MUCH nicer interior and overall fit and finish. You'll like the 6 cylinder torque and easy modability. With a tune and integrated meth kit you're at 400 whp for around 1 grand. Add downpipes/exhaust and you're at 430 whp.

The BMW handles more like a GT touring car than a sports car in my opinion. Steering is not quite as sharp as an Evo and it has more body roll. If you're not going to do any track stuff I'd pick the 335 over an Evo.
