2008 to 2012 trade
I'm vindicating money now? LOL I got the 335i for $28k used with a warranty, a bit less than what I paid for my X
And it's my wife's DD. The Evo's the better car, but not buy a lot. Anyway, thanks for clearing up that your assessment is based on ignorant perception by someone driving like an jerk on the street, and not anything based on reality.

I constantly beat a locals JB4 tuned/Intake N54 335i(makes around 330-340whp), and these races are into the triple digits at a local closed airstrip competition, by the end of the pull I usually have 1-2 cars on him. I've also beaten an E92 M3, who is about equal to the JB4 335i. Sounds like you must need some practice driving your car.
Not trying to say the 335i is slow or a bad car, because its not, I was highly considering one before the X, but I'm just saying a properly tuned/driven Evo should be WAY faster than a stock 335i, at any MPH.

There's a big difference between your Evo and his base Evo without SSS/Aero.
Actually, that's true^
They don't pay nothin' for the base models. Plus it seems like they offer less for modded cars, than completely stock. Probably playing the numbers game that some of the modded cars will be beat to hell (not saying your is OP) and need major service done.

I agree, I remember when trading in my STI the dealer said he doesn't even buy base model X's, since the SSS package is so highly desired, he has a hard time selling a base model.
If that is the case then your tune might not be spot on.

I've never taken my X to the strip yet, but I do know my way around the tree in other cars. I actually held the NA 1/4 mile record in the old 2.4L Ralliarts for over a year
I only use the evo for road racing, though, and I gotta say, I've never seen any E90 that's been consistently faster than me. There have been some M3's that I've traded with session-to-session. Most M3 drivers will pass me on long straights, but I'll get them back in the corners. I don't think I've EVER been passed by a 335/135 anywhere, not even on the long straights at VIR. Since my tune was questioned: I've detuned about 15hp/10tq from peak eliminate some intermittent knock near redline at the track. VirtualDyno using data on the front straight at VIR suggests I'm at about 340whp/345wtq with I/CBE/FMIC/tuned be me.Point is, I'm not just some idiot BMW fan boy. I'm way more of an Evo fan boy. I was just calling BS on the claim that a Ralliart with a X stock trubo pulls 3-4 lengths on a 335i before 80mph. There was a recent thread on 'the other forum' comparing the X and E90 335 and m3 with a lot of people chiming in who've owned both. The comment I was making about the 335 pulling harder at high speed wasn't just made by me! But it might be perception. In the Evo, when you're doing 80+ you KNOW it. You feel the wind shifting the car, you hear all the road noise and wind noise, the engine noise sounds like its going to explode thx to the crap gearing. It's an INTENSE feeling! In the BMW, I had to set the nav to *DING* any time I went over 90mph because I do it ALL THE TIME without even trying to drive fast. The car just gets up so effortlessly. Before I added the chime, I caught myself after doing 105-110 for at least a couple miles without knowing since I was used to the evo. It's a much better car at high speed, but thats about the only place it's better

I believe it. No idea what you've done to your car, but it doesn't take much to get an evo (13.5s 1/4) faster than a stock 335i (13.2s 1/4). Both cars react well to basic bolt-ons, but its a lot easier and cheaper to take it to the next level with the evo. What do you run in the 1/4? I know the JB4 335's are really close to be in in the 10's, so you must have a pretty quick car!
But, there is no way a 330-340whp 335i is even going to be close to 10s in the 1/4 mile! Maybe mid to high 12s with a good driver when on street tires, and in the lower 12s with DRs. The JB4 is just updated version of the JB3 basically, it certainly does not make the car run 10s with just that mod and intake.
I'm going to assume you mean a fully modified 335i will come close to breaking/broke 10s, which yes I'm aware of that, and it is VERY impressive. Ultimate sleeper status!
BTW, my car has never been to a 1/4 mile unfortunately as there is not one within reasonable distance(about 70 miles away), although I have seen a best of 7.9@88mph at a local 1/8th mile, which would probably translate into a lower 12. Also based on my experience with the 335i and M3, I would say my car probably would trap 112mph +. I'm not big into drag racing though, I've only made a few passes just to see how it would do.
right, not a stock 335 with the jb4 tuner. That'd be like compairing to a stock Evo with just an AP tune. Still, 335 wins. They gain almost 100tq from a tune alone! The 11.1s where run by stage 3 jb4's spray approaching 600whp/600wtq.
here's one without spray

another guy who runs about the same with an automatic using spray

^ Yeah I'm pretty sure the guy goes by the name hotrod on the forums.
I will give you that, only because the AP maps are weak in comparison, but with a dyno tune done on the Evo I think it would give the Evo a better shot, either way they're very both very easy cars to make quick with relatively little money.

Your stock 335 pulls harder than a modded/tuned Evo.
It's pretty obvious you were exaggerating for effect. But it's OK, I won't bear a grudge
