Special rain sensing windshield?
#16
I wonder what other goodies the MR has that I don't know about yet. I only recently learned the MR Touring models have heated sideview mirrors.

I'm the crazy guy that wants the MR specific options on my GSR.. and one day if I keep my Evo long enough, i'll eventually do these mods.. Apparently all the wiring is waiting for the parts.. it's mostly all plug and play.

I'll start by saying.. GOOGLE is not your friend. It took me some time to find the answer to this one-off...
Below is a link to a page where the guys in another country do the same thing we are thinking. But it does call for another windshield that has this special mount and reflective thing on it which the rain sensor snaps onto in order to work correctly. The windshield has it all built in. (So if you crack your windshield and have the chance to get another one.. i would do the one with that special part and then try to install the rain sensor yourself. Plus u will need to run a wire to connect it correctly... but when it comes to the turning the sensor on.. i think you can still use your factory stalk and it will know when to turn on because the sensor may be like a big relay switch.)
The below link really sums up what all you have to so to retro fit it correctly.

So does the GSR. I have a 2014 GSR and when it rains i don't even use the wipers on the highway because of how much wax is on the glass. I'm not sure what makes you think it is only a option to turn off the wipers completely on the MR and not the GSR...?

If you are stopped the wipers still come on automagically. I have a crack in my window and couldn't see why it would cost so much to replace.
Now I know. :sadbanana:

^ No they do not. At least not in my 2014. If my car is STOPPED and it rains the wipers DO NOT turn on automatically. In order to turn on your wipers you need to have it activated manually THEN it may detect rain. Otherwise, for me.. The faster i go the faster the wipers go while detecting rain. If i come to a complete stop the wipers slow down and slow down more but are still active. If i WANT to turn the wipers off then it is just like any other car out there.. just turn them OFF. Now if it rains the wipers DO NOT turn on automatically.
