Nothing like some nice backfire. Love the sound of it. Kinda gonna miss it once I get a pro tune this summer hopefully by Ivey. Nothing like in a middle of a thunderstorm and im driving down the road shifting into second and pop and my friend texts me 2 secs later saying was that your car or thunder(I was atleast 10 houses down the road from him when it happen). I am also running straight pipe ams tp and cat back single. It is going to happen and it is nothing to worry about

 

Guys let me get this cleared up. I just got a custom test pipe from the same shop. So this popcorn sound, its super high pitched and loud and sometimes I hear it crackle and pop a few times in a row on a down shift like a damn gun just unloaded from beneath the car. This is the suspected backfire yes? Now with the test pipe, am I shooting flames?

 

Super high pitch? Shouldn't be unless you got that woooo wooooooooo with them tricked out flows.

Also sometimes id get loud low pitch sounds more like a 'boom' style pop in a deep tone at the 'end' of the exhaust and the other I mention are high pitch popcorn popping sounds you can hear 'in' the exhaust.
Is any of this normal?

 

Probably normal.. maybe you're not describing it correctly. We'd have to see a video or get some audio clips to judge it. You'll get all sorts of popping/crackling. Depending on the exhaust setup, it all sounds slightly different.
