Well to start my wife has the evo in her name and I convinced her to buy it with my money good family car , banks don't like me for some reason . She is well versed in manual trans driving and looks good behind the wheel. This year I'm looking for us both to start auto crossing and convinced her it would be hot to see a hot chick beat up on the guys on the auto-x courses. I do say you either find one who at least appreciates your hobby or enjoys it completely, I got lucky .

Would I expect her to want me to like tupperware parties, baby showers, and shopping? Heck no!

Shes been informed if she doesnt like the way I take care of her and the home, she is welcome to find some other old fart to do it.

Maybe somebody who drinks a lot, and whos life ambition is a dart league. Or owns a bass boat and spends tens of thoasands of dollars campaigning it every year.

As it is, my hobbie is parked out in the garage. And when Im not out spanking that, Im home, spanking her.
Im in the same boat for the most part. My wife is as proud of my Evo as i am. She doesnt drive it but likes riding in it and watching it run the track. One day she'll probably drive it

Post a pic of you two standing next to your cars once you get the blue X (preferably both reverse parked in the garage).

my wife hates my X and never has anything positive to say about it. Always goes on and on about how she liked my STi.

...I honeslty think she just liked the scooby sound. For her next car I'd like to get her into a WRX. Then, she will at least drive something I like (because I hate her Focus).

...and then if she drives a Scooby, I can beat up on the WRX when we are in separate cars

Drivers around here are HORRIBLE, always cutting people off and stuff. I counted that out of 50 people who cut me off driving like maniacs for no reason 47 of them were women, predominately in big SUV's and/or "sporty" cars.

Rule #1 before handing your wife the keys to an Evo, invest in drivers education classes.

I'm just saying, don't let her turn into one of those d-bag drivers, going from a Nissan Maxima to an Evo is a big adjustment.

The car doesn't make the d bag decisions the driver does. I went from an Altima to a Evo an I drive the same

well done sir mission accomplished ! wish mine felt that way, but in her defence she doesn't tolerate any one but her trash talking the car. she is from michigan and the EVO proved that you can make power outside of the BIG 3!.

After about a week of her driving the Evo, she absolutely loves the car. She takes back everything bad she had ever said about spending money on the car for parts, carbon, wheels, etc haha. She texts me one day while at work with "can we trade the Maxima once we get it back for a blue one? (mines white btw) lol.

Now it seems like were going to have 2 Evo's in our garage.

Success.
Winner !

My wife just got an MR. She cannot drive a manual and had never driven my X GSR nor my VIII GSR. She had been driving a 2011 A4.

Yep, and I've seen perfectly normal drivers lose their minds when they get higher hp cars. D bags will be d bags but it's easy for some people to get drunk on power...horsepower.

All I'm saying is that it's not always easy for some people to make the transition, mostly non-car people who don't respect the machines. Sadly some learn the hard way.

Either way, OP, good job converting the wife. Mine couldn't care less either way. Her only requirements for the car:

1. Must have cup holders.
2. Must not be yellow.
