Where to find replacement bumpers?

long story short some ******* did a hit and run on me at school backed into me and screwed up my front end pretty bad. i don't want to go through my insurance because i was in a wreck late last year and my insurance will more than likely up for this so i was told it would actually be cheaper to just take the hit right now. I got quoted 1200 to repair and repaint the front bumper which is crazy. i can order a brand new bumper from mitsu for around that price and i don't have that kind of money to spend right now.

so for anyone who's been in my position before are there any other cheaper options out there? I'm trying not to spend over 500 bucks. do you think i should check local junkyards? or just go aftermarket? i would prefer to stay OEM but i realize when you have a budget a lot of times you have to go aftermarket. the only front bumper i seen online reasonably priced is hideous

theres another one that says its for a base lancer, but it comes with the wide body effect of the evo like replacement front wide fenders and what not like the evo so i was thinking it would probably fit an evo also

just looking at different options at this point.

Not sure how it works in Texas, but in Maryland this would fall under Uninsured Motorist Coverage, which everyone is forced to purchase and carries a $250 deductible across the board. These claims should not impact premiums like at-fault accidents would.

$1200 for front bumper repair is humorous.

+1. Insurance should only be $250 because you weren't driving so it is comprehensive..

Have you looked at Mitsubishiparts.net? PM Russell, he's a vendor on here..

http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/cart/...&z=Add+to+Cart

$558 before shipping, and it comes prepainted WW..

very nice find! do you know if theres a unpainted one they carry? i had my car repainted WW about 6 months ago and after it was all said and done its not the EXACT WW, it looks a little better and slightly whiter

edit, i looked up the parts it doesn't include the middle pieces of the bumper though :/ i would need those too. anyone know what all parts are separate in the middle?

as far as the insurance here, i'll have to look again into it. but you're saying all i should have to do is pay a 250 premium and my insurance should stay the exact same??

Yes. Key word being "should". Insurance agents/underwriters are only slightly less shady than politicians.
