Someone took my garage door opener

I Park my Evo in the garage, I had a break in recently they took my garage door opener, know I'm worried they have free access to my garage they can just open the door, any advice on what I can do to protect my Evo & other belongings.

After you park your car inside and close the door, unplug the opener.

You should be able to change the garage code.

Look up your specific garage door online and get the manual. I know on the back of the garage door electric motor there are toggle switches to change that (at least on my parents Craftsman ones their are).

I am in the Chicagland area as well and when I close my garage door, I put a long metal rod in between the door and track itself so even if someone tries to get in, I'll hear the banging before they get in.

I'd be careful what you guys post here. You never know if the thieves scour the forum.

Sorry about the break in. If you wanna get a little crafty, you can do what the other person said about the metal rod and try to catch the person when you hear someone trying to open it. If they broke in once, I dont know how much changing the code would do.

Camp out in your garage tonight with a glock. I think you can figure out the rest.

you should be able to hold down the link button on the opener and it will erase everything after a few seconds. lights will usually flash a few times too

yes do this! On the backside there's a purple or red reset button. If you hold this down for 10 secs or more it erases the codes from the device. Nothing will open your door until you reprogram each. This includes any keypads you might have outside.
