I do believe the monster heat shield is only made for stock manifold.
The prototype map performance manifold heat shield would be better if it covered the top.

It's around $300, which doesn't seem too bad for a titanium heatshield.
does that fit tubulars?

I had wrapped the manifold prior to install. I know people like to coat them which can certainly help too but I wrapped. The manifold, under race condition, burned the wrap off over a season. Really, so that it was hanging in pieces that I would peel off (with gloves when cool).

We are now using two solutions:

- wrap your cam sensor and boost sensor and lines with reflective heat tape.
- use MAP's Heat shield for tubular manifolds.

The MAP shield bolts up easily, is very nicely made and the price is reasonable ($185). You can find them here www.maperformance.com.
i thought MAPs heatshield was for the firewall??

and if not, does it fit your tubular?

exactly... but what/how would I wrap my cam/boost sensor?

will the MAP one for between the valve cover / manifold fit the Full-Race tubular, that is the question...

You mean the cam sensor shield they make? That does not fit with the full race tubular manifold. I used, first, reflective heat tape on the cam sensor, just wrap it all up. It's shiny and so makes the car go faster too. Then I used an extra threaded hole on the FP red (probably for the stock intake) and mounted a cam sensor shield I made from my old manifold heat shield. It blocks it completely from the manifold.

I agree that the MAP shield would be even more effective if it had a piece that came up over the top and attached to the valve cover. That would only work for those of us who don't use the plastic cover. it wouldn't hard to fabricate I suppose.
