Warrranty question?

Will the factory warranty cover the front windshield? Woke up in the morning to notice a 6-7 inch long crack starting from the top going down the middle where the rear view mirror is.

Most likely not, unless it was a factory defect which will be very hard to argue.

Most insurance only have a $100 deductible for wind shield replacement, call yours and see.

I doubt that Mitsu will cover it...anything debatable usually Mitsu will deny...Evos have been keeping Mitsu in business NOT their customer service!

look into getting a windshield from a regular lancer as they are thicker although heavier. unless this is a track car that you need the weight savings

If there is no noticable chip where the crack could hae started argue it is a stress crack. I have actually seen it before where the manufacture didn't apply a ample ammount of adhesive and it cracked from where the glass was touching the metal body. It does happen.

Move to Florida. Get full coverage. Windshields are 100% covered no money out of pocket .

If the crack is a pressure crack, not caused by a chip (they will be able to tell if it was a chip or not using a magnifying device), then it would be covered. If the crack started from a chip, it won't be covered. If that's the case, they'll show you the chip using the magnifying device. I have seen a pressure cracked windshield before, on an Outlander. It was covered.

Then again, this was covered by MMSCAN (Mitsu Canada). I think they're a bit more helpful up here than they are in the US, based on what I've read.

Pony up the cash and just get a Lancer windshield. I highly doubt Mitsu would cover it, unless the car is less than 48 hrs old.

I've got a friend who's cracked a few windshields in his M3 from chassis flex.... But that's with over 800hp and no cage.
