Trading in WTF!
I'm looking at trading in my evo x gsr and every dealer I talk to is telling me $25k!!!! For a 2011 loaded gsr with 8k miles? WTF? Rough trade is 27k I figured I'd take a little hit but that's redick
Lol, I was looking to trade in my Ralliart when it was at 20k miles, I paid ~27k, got offered 12k at 20k miles.

Total rip off
I paid 30K for my Spyder loaded brand new. It now has 28k miles, new top, OEM wind deflector. They offered me $12k. Good to see a car drop more than half its value in 3 years. If there is one thing you assume with Mitsu, its that they WILL drop significantly in value. The Evo is really the only one that holds value. But you will probably have to sell private party to get that value. Any dealership is going to rip you off in a trade in. And if they dont, they will find ways to tack it on to the price of the new car you buy.
I remember back in the 90's the cars use to hold their values. They held values so well that banks actually did balloon payments on the vehicles. Now a days you need to ensure you get a good finance rate because you will never get out from under the payment. You will always owe more than what its worth probably until you have about a year left of payments. And by that time its not worth trading in. Just one of the many many reasons why our economy is jacked up.

Not surprised one bit. They use auction pricing to give you a trade value.
Sure they'll show you the 27k you want for your trade no problem. Then they'll make up the 2k on the price of the car you are trading it in on.
Enjoy

Live and learn. I've sold almost every car I've owned and gotten what I owed or close after only having the vehicle 6-9 months. I even sold out a 3 year lease 1 year in and only lost about $1500. I think I screwed myself into thinking I would grow to love the car and have something newer with a warranty but that's already becoming an issue.

Enthusiast cars need to go private sale, period.
I sold my 1999 NSX for $50k last summer. Porsche dealer had offered me $25k. Nuff said.
