Catback Exhaust or CAI?

So I want to start thinking about another mod to add to my Eva. Since they are both about the same price I am unsure of which one to get. I do have the CobbAP however everything else is completely stock. Coming from an SRT4 that was all dolled up with bolt-ons I really miss the sounds the car would make for both the intake and the exhaust (TB exhaust).

Just looking for some opinions and thoughts!!

HOLLA!!!

What year is your X? And what exhaust or intake would you get?

Personally I would go with an exhaust.. But I wouldn't spend only like $300 bucks on one that sounded like crap.. Most exhausts are more than an intake.

catback will give you a deep nice sound but you wont listen to it that much from the inside. An intake will increase turbo sound and you could even be able to listen to the bov. Dependes on what you want. I had a RA turbo with open wg and honestly i preffer the turbo sound...

Spending 300 on an exhaust just doesn't sound like a good idea since the intakes often run about 300-400 pending who you go with.

What exhaust can you get for $300? If there is one out there its probably a pos. I bought my buddies Tomei Expreme for $700. If i didnt buy it from him, i defently would have spent the $1400 to buy it new, best exhaust imo and its light as ****.

Get a AMS CAI. I got one and love it. Although AMS sent me a ****ed up pipe, it was to short where the CAI elbow or filter goes on so they sent me a new pipe. It really brought out the sound of the turbo. Here is some dirty pics of it.

this is what you'll be spending (plus labor if you have someone else install it):

and if you're awesome(and want the extra performance), you'll also get a test pipe.

yea thats what they used. I had a fight with the filter and the pipes so thats why its abit mangled. Turns out the pipe with the maf sensor on it was to short so the filter and elbow wouldnt fit on it.

Interesting. That sits higher than I thought it would. I may look into that option, as opposed to a normal intake that sits in the engine
