Exclamation Mexico Pemex 92 Gas

Hi All,

I’m planning a road trip to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico in my Evo X do you guys have any experience with the Mexican 92 Pemex Gas?

I’m not sure if I should use my actual map (Stage 2 91ACN) or if I should flash a 91 non ACN stage 2 map in the Pemex pumps says the gas is 92 but I’m not sure of how legit is this :P

Any advice will be appreciated

Thanks

i would not take my x south of the border........

.......but if you must ....the safe bet would be a stage 1 ACN map.

that will keep the timing and boost conservative

so you do not have worry about detonation/spark knock.

Definitely would not take the X anywhere south of the border... Then again, I wouldn't even take myself down there. But, due to lack of information of how they actually rate their fuel, I would follow 07outty's advise. Just make sure you monitor your A/F closely.

Cartel will make you an offer you can't refuse. Enterprise might be a better way to go.
The problem with gas on the other side, is there storage tanks and lack of detergets. You could end up with a load of sediment in your tank and a little sock to keep it from clogging your injectors.

If I were you, just for peace of mind I would simply rent a car and drive it down there, leaving your car safe at home. Let's say it costs you $300 for the rental, it would save you money in the event that your car gets banged up, vandalized, or stolen. Besides, do you really want to attract the attention of the "honest" policemen they have down there, always looking to shake down tourists?

Hahahahahahahaha

Well the thing here is I use to be in a car club in Guadalajara that was 2 years ago most of my friends upgraded their cars (Mustang 5.0’s 2012, Focus RS, Cherokee SRT8, chargers, etc.) when they knew I got an X they offered to pay a transport service for the Evo so we can try it on track and ¼ mile at toluquilla and being honest I will like to see my times there the only thing did scares me is the gas, that’s the only reason why I haven’t take it there yet.

you guys just scared me more T_T

The thing is I have full turbo back and I'm not sure if it will be safe to run a Stage 1 map :S

I’m not a tourist at all there,

I use to street race on Thursdays and ¼ mile on Saturdays xDDD
The local police is very cheap if they are able to stop you supposing for some strange reason god allow them to with 10-20 USD you are free to go, like they say there with money dances the dog xDD

other thing is they don't sale X in Mexico only IX since there is no local market for the car parts they normally don't pay tension to it, they are more interested in the common mass produced cars. one of my friends owns a Lambo Gallardo it's been almost 2 years since he got it, the only bad thing so far is a lot of people take pictures with it when he leave it in a public parking aahahahah

running a less aggressive map will not harm the motor in any way,

running a more aggressive map and possibly getting some poor quality fuel,

will definitely get you some knock/detonation

I don't have a 49 CFR sitting in front of me, but I'd consult that before even considering that. Carrying hazardous materials across borders generally isn't a good idea.

i'm sure someone in CA could weave 15 gallons of race gas into the seat cushions or something.

i've never crossed the border before (on the road), do they look in your trunk? if not, i'd take the risk then turn up the bewst and school some mexican street racers.

When you cross the border to Mexico they normally don’t pay attention to your car you can have a full tank of nitroglycerin and they won’t notice.

Make sure your car insurance coverage is valid across the boarder...
