Hello guys,
When i'm on WOT my boost gauge would say that i'm on 27psi, but it doesnt stay 27 instead slowly goes down. Is that normal?
-Thanks in advance!

Yes. It can't maintain that level of boost and flow the air required for higher rpms. Normal.

ps. if you're a newbie, should you really be running 27 psi? did someone who knows what they're doing set the car up?

Haha. Yea it's normal. The X's turbo is kinda small and can't put out that much airflow all the way to redline, so the boost tapers. The only way to change that is to upgrade the turbo.

Completely normal for a turbo to taper down like that.

Yes. There are not that many places that are better. You'll be fine.

Also, I have found most mechanical gauges at my elevation (2280ft) read 1 to 1.5 psi higher than actual boost.

If boost is defined in the usual way - as how much more pressure there is after the turbo compared to ambient - then the gauge is accurate and you really do have more boost. If you think only in terms of absolute pressure (or airflow), which is what really matters, then it's the same as down at sea level.
