I'm interested to know as well. My wife is due with our first and I'm trying to figure out what to buy. I'd rather just buy one seat that can be used as a newborn and up. Will the recaro work as rear facing if it's installed in the middle?

I have an older model Recaro car seat (Signo G 2) and plan on getting a proride as a second seat. I waited until my son was forward facing to use the recaro because it was easier to have a lightweight seat with a handle to carry him in as a newborn/infant. With the recaro you would have to take them out of the seat to put them in a stroller or carrier whereas with a normal seat you can just grab it and go. All depends on personal preference.

I had a Graco infant seat and matching stroller which he still uses and believe it or not it fits in the trunk. It's a very tight squeeze and has to be put into the trunk a specific way, but it does fit.

Got a 3 month old with a Safety First 35 and Safety First Click It stroller. The base and seat fit behind all seats and is currently in the middle, and the stroller fits in the trunk, with room to spare for a few groceries and my gym/gear bag.

We do have a nice 3 wheel stroller but that stays in my wife's CX9.

Bump. Can anybody take a pic of their recaro proride in the backseat, in rear facing and front facing mode?

Yes, I'll do it when I get home. The wife has it in her GTI right now.

Good stuff! My wife is a month away from delivering our first. It's getting real now...

We are also doing the Recaro when he is closer to 1, but we are leaning to the ProSport. Umbrella stroller, no problem. The infant stroller, not so much...

Anyone tint their car a little lighter because of the child? I usually like 20% all around but have been thinking of having the Evo done at 35.

I started using my recaro at 2 weeks. They're so soft and protective I couldn't resist. My son is 18 months and as big as a 3 year old now.

The minimum weight for the ProSport is 20lbs. Which is why we were thinking that will be closer to the year mark. I think the ProRide is less minimum weight but also slightly less for later on.

Yeah the ProRide is 5lbs to 35lbs rear facing (my kid was 10lbs at birth) and 20 to 70 front facing.
