AMS Full CAI

Anybody else that has this notice their filter is WAAAAY more dirtier than when it was the short ram? I don't have the fog light delete either so it's pretty encapsulated down there and when I took it out tonight to clean it was dirty as hell. Any ideas or just suck it up? I'm not too sure the power gain that the full CAI gives over the SRI but I think it looks like a cleaner install just more of a PITA to change/clean...

I would personally keep it short ram with a heat shield and route dryer ducting or Mishimoto silicone ducting where the CAI pipe would go. It may sound ghetto but I've seen plenty of clean examples before. On a second note, I can't see a CAI doing whole lot on a turbo car, possibly just a sales gimmick just like nearly everything now days.

I have the CAI and yea it gets dirty quick but it doesnt cause issues. I had my under tray rip off in the snow so there was nothing covering the bottom for about 3000km in the snow and had no issues. I just clean the filter every time i do a oil change. Most of the dirt that gets on the filter comes through the slots on the fender liner vents. MAP has a heat shield that goes half way around the filter. You can use that if it concerns you. It's been dyno proven 7hp difference. I did a few pulls with the SRI an CAI and my logs were showing between 5-7hp as well. I would post them but i deleted them when i was cleaning up the computer

Right on man, thanks for the input...I took mine off yesterday to clean it and it looked like "mud" road grime was all over the filter and is a PITA to clean off....I think I'll just go buy a new filter and call it a day haha. Again thanks for the power gains part!

np. Yea i took mine off to clean it and it was the same thing, caked on mud/sand. Once i cleaned it, my AFR went from 10.5 to 11.5 and it gave me abit more power then the clutch could hold..lol. I'm at 423hp 382trq right now.
