Wow sorry to hear that man. I don't really thing the state is going to cover damage from a deer, imagine how much fraud there would be. Suddenly every accident would be the result of "a deer" lol. Good luck getting it taken care of!!

Sorry to hear about the accident. But I am pretty sure Deer fall under Act of God! Although I am an Atheist I am pretty sure that's going to be the Insurance Company and the States take on it.

I does look like a scratch and dent type of thing it will cost but its not like it totaled the car or bent the frame. Still sucks though.

Hitting a dear is a comp claim not collision. If your comp deductible is 1k man that terrible. Always keep comp deductibles low. Mine is 50.

Your insurance rates should never rise for a comp claim, if they do time for a new insurance company.

And as for the state covering this You're Joking Right??

You're recommending that he should drive around with a dented front fender instead of using his comprehensive insurance to fix the damage?

Seems like it is that time of year. Deer ran into the side of my car last night (or this morning) it was 2:00 AM. caved in the fender and a smalll dent in the door. The dent in the door can just be pushed out, fender need to be replaced. My wife was amazed at the brakes in the car. SHe had never experience a quick stop before. I was moving about 10mph when the deer hit me. No permenet damage to the deer but I bet it is sore this moring.

I would put a claim on insurance, instead of them paying a shop have them issue the payment to you. Once this is done contact paintless dent removers see what they can do, pay them some of the money... Next buy a used grey fender and throw it on. Save the rest of the cash for your deductible

I don't think they can cut me a check unless my car is paid off

Quote: And it ****ED my car up! (excuse this thread also being on evoxforums)

I was getting on an onramp, going about 30-40 mph when it collided into the side of my car. I didn't even see it.

Ive heard the state of ohio is liable for deer collisions as long as deer hit YOU as in, the side of your car. Has anyone heard of this!?

I don't want to file a claim with my insurance because my rates will surely increase, and I have a $1k deductible. The sheriff that took the report had no idea about how I could go about going after the state of ohio...

Anybody have recommendations? hire an attorney? There is damage to the entire left side of my car!
Man o man. Didn't you just get this car recently? Also didn't you just have engine problems with your 8? If so I'm starting to think you have worse luck than mine.

Sorry to hear this. When does it end.

yeah my top end went when my balance belt snapped. It was a total of $2.3k to get her all fixed.

While i was waiting on the repairs, I picked this car up. Ive had it for a month and already broke the turbo oil feed line, popped a tire by barely clipping a curb, and now this....

all in 1 month I just made my first payment, and now I'm dangerously broke
