routine maintenance required

So I recently bought a brand new 2012 evo. It has 2712 miles on it currently and I've already changed the engine oil and oil filter with Mobil 1 oil and oem oil filter at 1871 miles. So today when I turned on my car this message popped up " routine maintenance required". I'm still new to the evo scene so I'm just wondering why this popped up.

Try resetting the maintenance reminder by holding down the info button until it beeps. I forget exactly how it's done, but you should be able to search for it

If it comes back, then something else is up. They probably just forgot to reset the reminder.

You don't say whether or not you have nav. If you do all the service reminders and records are kept in the nav system. Reset the reminder in you nav system. If you can't figure it out I can describe it once I get my car back from the body shop.

Just open up the owners manual. It explains everything step by step.

the service reminder is based on miles on the vehicle, regardless if you did the service or not.
