hks ssqv????

hi guys!!! so my stock BPV passed out!!!....and my tuner only recommends the HKS SSQV recirculated...so thats what i want to get.

but damn its complicated..........the BOV sells for around 150$......and the recirculated kit is like 450$( for like ****ing only 3 little metal pipe...doesnt make any sense at all)....... SO THE QUESTION IS.... I HAVE AN AMS INTAKE....SO I JUST WANT TO SWAP MY STOCK BPV FOR THAT HKS SSQV!!!....... IF YOU GUYS HAVE A LINK TO EXPLAIN ME HOW IT WORKS....

does the hks ssqv + only and adapter(10$) will make it a recirculated hks BPV????

give me some tips please tks

I would recommend going with the Synapse DV. It is roughly the same size as the factory BPV, It isn't as expensive as a HKS either. I have heard that some people have issues with the HKS, I could be wrong if any HKS guys want to correct me. I have had my Synapse for a good while now and no issues at all.

Look into the forge as well.

$175 is the best price around and all the cars I've worked on with them have held boost very well. The Synapse is a great valve too but sometimes you have to mess with the springs depending on individual setup.

Agreed, Forge makes a solid product. My synapse DV worked right out of the box, I really didn't have to mess with tightness. However it all depends on how much boost you run too.

Cobb BPV and Synapse DV are the only BOV's I recommend for Evos. I personally have the Cobb on my car and like it.

That surging is the common issue at or above 27psi. The resolution is to either trim the existing or purchase a lighter weight. It's counter intuitive that a ligher spring is the answer.

If you're really set on the HKS, here is the Evo X kit: http://www.maperformance.com/hks-sup...ion-evo-x.html

Stay away from SSQV... Do a search, nothing but trouble on the evo (a shame cause they are good.... Just not for our cars)!! Forge are really nice, or get a stock dv crushed for a little more holding power. Tial is by far the best of the best, but you'll pay for it!!

Not an HKS fan at all - Coming from having installed them on DSM's. I ran a TiAL 50mm on my Evo IX and am planning on getting the TiAL QR when the time comes. They are easy to setup with just a simple reading of your boost gauge and changing to the correct spring. The only thing is that you'll need to weld on the flange on your intercooler pipe.

That sounds so sick. The spring should depend on the vacuum reading, though. The black -6psi spring is for -8in/hg through -11in/hg. My car would run the plain -10psi spring for -16in/hg to -19in/hg.

It comes with the 11psi spring but when i orderd it, i got the 8psi spring since i was told the 11 was to stiff. So i've been running the 8psi for 9000km's. Feels pretty good on the streets. Only time it caused surge/flutter was when i was up in the mountains and had to go up a slight hill. Also you can hear it abit during the track. So i've orderd a 6psi spring along with my new clutch and ill give that a try when it arrives on monday.
