Just ended up driving through 2 feet deep water, engine not happy..

Had to drive about a half-mile through 2 feet deep water.. it was up to the door crease the entire time.. Engine sounds like a can of marbles but it could be normal.. I'm 100% completely stock.. Please tell me the intake has a bypass valve or something in case water got inside?

The entire engine bay was wet and large amounts of water on everything, ugh.

I am so sick to my stomach over this..

You should change all fluids and plugs immediately and hope nothing happened.

I would have driven 40 miles through a different route to avoid a half mile of water that was anywhere near the intake.

You would have if you thought it looked like a normal puddle at first.. then it was too late to park and turn around for fear your entire car might flood.

Understandable, I would start by pulling all the intercooler plumbing & intake apart and changing the oil.

It's an evo and it can take those kind of water. You have to replace all fluids though.

How would it get into the intake on a stock vehicle? That's a real question, I'm not being facetious.

Well it seems I was just being fearful and over exaggerating.. Zero issues this morning.. got 26 mpg otw to work (new record) from babying it.. but heard nothing out of the norm.. The can of marbles are the injectors (listened to a guy's brand new evo and sounds identical to mine).

The water never went over the hood.. I would probably have all kinds of water inside the car if it got that high - but no water got inside during this adventure.

I went WOT a few times on the way to work and it felt and sound fine.. I made this post during panic mode but I should probably get the fluids/plugs changed out anyways just in case.. better safe than sorry.

Well it's kind of a ram air deal, the water would have to get pretty high (up to the hood and over) to get in there, I was just scared because there was water splashed all around the engine bay when I popped the hood and there was definately small puddles sitting at the intake entrance.. but at most, the air filter would absorb most of the water before allowing pure water to pass through.. it probably evaporated before it could touch the turbo inlet I bet.

This is why I avoid puddles at all costs. No matter how deep it looks. You never know what the hell is in that puddle, something that can puncture your tire, a pot hole.

Lesson learned. You should be fine though, just get your fluids changed and check your intercooler.

What should I check for with the intercooler? I drench it when I wash the car with no issues.. I would hope there's no way for water to get into the pipes.. but I guess things are different with a submerge :P

I would definitly pull all the plumbing and put some fresh fluids in it, not so much because there is an issue, but definitely as preventative, that kinda stuff goes a long way especially when you see it all day long working as a service manager.
