Tuning will void your engine warranty. If your motor goes after having the car tuned, you will be paying out of pocket. A lot of modifying cars is putting money aside for if the **** hits the fan.

That being said, a reputable and competent tuner dialing in your car is not a big deal. If you really want a safe tune, make sure to tell whomever you decide to go to just that. As long as you do thing correctly and take your time, you needn't worry about things going wrong. That being said, there are known issues with this car that people need to be aware of. The FPR hose coming off is one. The fuel-pump relay malfunctioning is another. Just do your research.

I dont think I'm letting the fear overrule the fun. I think I'm letting the rational side overrule the want of a little more out of my car. I think that if you mod you risk something occurring to the car. If you let someone tune your car, you are putting it in their hands. And then I think about how the car is my DD and needed to get me back and forth to work. And then I see the bank statement and all the money I still owe. I got a little penny stashed away but would hate to have to spend money on unneeded repairs on the car. Just makes me nervous even risking a warranty void.
I applaud your honesty! I have had a lot of modded cars. Never broke a single one. But I also spent more than I should to make sure I deal with reputable people that will stand behind their work. I think you will be fine by Cobb. Deal with Chris in Plano, tell him your concerns and just be honest with him that you want a VERY conservative tune and that the car is your DD. You see my power and mine is my DD. I love it. I have had one issue and it was because I didn't listen to Cobb at the time. Luckily it wasn't horrible to correct.

Good luck to u and let me know how it goes for keeping stock Cat with Grimspeed! Thx
I will say that I also have a 2011 MR w similar mods... Except the fact that I do have a test pipe. I recently also visited His Motorsports for a tune. Mine is tuned on the stock ebc

Stupid iPhone... The car made 282 whp on His dyno and we tapered the boost to around 24 but not because it wouldn't climb higher. I always have Kasey do a conservative tune for the fact that I live in the Mountains of Va... I can honestly say that this makes the second evo that I have let them tune and each time I've had no complaints and a good safe tune...

I run 27psi with a pro tune from STM and I've never had an issue. They installed a hallman bc in my car prior to the tune

Eitherway, yeah high boost with a cat can be difficult and if you want to keep the cat, 290whp with an MR isn't bad. I would of thought you could of made 315ish with the MR and those mods, but for all I know you were on a mustang dyno that never shows any high numbers....after all they're just numbers and by themselves don't mean a thing.
MR with a full tbe ets intake /uicp / gs 3port / tune
I netted 327awhp / 300 awtq at 25 psi.
On a dynojet, I'm sure it's alot less on a mustang dyno.

Exhaust is a choke point on stock set up.
Was hoping for 330-350 awhp & around 320-340 awtq.
Stock turbo feels like its kinda maxed out.
If I need more power either ets set up or fp black.

Maybe one day I can tune with e85.

My 2008 GSR wont boost over 1.2bar help please

i was pushing around 1.9 bar of boost on my stock block for about 2 years then i blew the engine , after the rebuild my mechanic tuned it back down to 1.2 bar , i drove the car for about 8000 miles and when i went to my tuner to boost it back up to around 1.7 it wouldnt boost that high i then noticed something disconnected in my engine bay can someone tell me whats going on ? my mechanic told me he did this o purpose so no one can push the boost without my consent and said that if i wanted him to fix it he wont take any responsibility to anything that happens to the engine even if i didnt tune it again , can someone tell me what exactly he did ?
