I just can't figure out why people don't respect other people's property? I see people swing doors open without even caring about the car next to them. I spend time trying to find the perfect spot away from people. If I have to park next to people I try and pick a nice car and I try to park closest to the cars passager side figuring there is a least a chance there is no passenger in their car. All this work because people don't respect my car. When I had a Ducati motorcycle there were numerous times I came out of a store and saw a person sitting on it or some guy putting his little kid on it. When I approached them they didn't think they were doing anything wrong. "I am not hurting it, just sitting on it to see what it feels like" OMG I am going to curse right now so I better end this post!
^ thats earlybird specials in before 6am. I was just in Salt Lake and saw city monthly prking 23 dollars what a difference. I drive in NYC almost everyday, and have for the past 12yrs. If a delivery truck thinks he can fit into a space 3/4th of an inch longer than his truck he will try. regardless of how many times he "taps" your car to fit. You need a NYC 500$ dollar beater If you live in north NJ go by Detailer Domain and talk to Phil.
I was born and raised in manhattan that's just part of living or working in the City. I parked my EVO on the streets for the first 2 years of owning it since 2005. Thank god it's never has had any of the windows smashed, but I did have my trunk popped (good thing I had an alarm with 2 way pager). Had my tires slashed aswell, but so did everyone else on the same street I was parked on. I had to move out to Queens just for the fact Manhattan is not the ideal place to own a Cream puff like an EVO and street park it. I now own a Lancet SE as a dd and even with Bumper guards they still manage to jack my **** up. In any case there no escape I recently had a tree fall on my Lancer during a storm. When I visit family in the EVO I leave it a park and lock parking Garage.

Bottom line, if you drive a nicer car in the city, its inevitable that ppl gonna backed into yours. Space is very limited, too slow you get a ticket for double parking. So any available space usually won't last too long. They will try to squeeze in even if its 3 inches clearance between the cars. I've seen a lexus parking sensor was halfway hanging on the bumper because people repeatedly hitting it over and over lol . If you have the bumper guard, they will hit it harder, trust me LOL
There was a guy that I know in NYC, he fabbed up a bar with 3 inch spikes sticking out haha. It's a hassle to take in and out everytime, but hey at least nobody gonna try to hit it.
Talking about parking, lol even the city is trying to rob money. Street parking is around $.50/10mins and usually 1 hr limit depending on the location. They hope you don't have enough time to get back to your car so they can write you a ticket. 1 minute late, you have ticket on your windshield. They usually never late or hesitate to write you a ticket. If it's 1 hr parking limit. traffic cop usually write down your license plate, time you park there and start counting the moment you park there. If you park over an hr on the same spot, you'll get a ticket. Doesn't matter if you pay for the parking.....
Traffic cop is really bad in NY. I've talked to one of them, he said that he has quota on how much summons to give out every month. So by the end of the month, watch out for traffic cop! I've seen traffic cop giving parking tickets to city cops LOL. Oh and ups and fedex in NYC, usually have 5-10 tickets on their windshield by the end of business days. Wondering how good their attorneys are.

^ lol yeah I see the delievry trucks with dozens of tickets. I do a ton of work in NYC . It's 15 bucks for every 3 hours. We use some company that take our tickeks and haggles NYC down a few bucks each ticket. We were just instructed to double park cause the fine is cheaper than a no parking
