"premium paint charge" BS

i donno if this has been asked before, but is there a legitimate reason the PHANTOM BLACK costs an extra $250? apparently you get charged for "premium paint." sounds like a whole lotta horse**** to me.

PS: does that mean the other colors aren't of a "premium" grade? seriously, what is that all about?

Its an EVO. Did you seriously expect paint similar in Quality to a Ferrari? or a Bentley?

I was commenting on your statement. Not the question.

i was referring to black being "premium" paint and the other colors not being "premium," in comparison to each other. i wasn't comparing MITSUBISHI's paint quality to any other manufacturer's. it's a well-known fact that the paint on the evos aren't the best.

why is this such a big deal? every manufacturer likes to pick a unique color/paint and charge a little extra

at least the Phantom Black has a unique color/texture to it. its not the same as the Tarmac Black on any of the other Mitsu's

+1

most of the other evo x colors are flat colors such as ww,as,gg,etc...phantom black has that speckle to it.

honestly it really isnt a big deal. you own an evo, if you buy a car for 35k+ expect to pay for little things, and pay more. you arent driving a 17k honda

clearly reading comprehension ain't everyone's forté. i was simply asking what warranted the extra charge for the black paint. UGAKIRK gave me the answer.

i wasn't complaining about forking over an extra few hundred dollars. simply asking if anyone knew why one color costs more than another.
