rusting oil pan on E85??
i'm using E85 and today my builder let me know that when he removed my oil pan it was rusting from the inside. Any one else having this happening to them with E85?

Alcohol can speed up the rust/corrosion process, and by saying "fix your headgasket" you're implying that engine coolant has found it's way into the oil pan; engine coolant has rust/corrosion inhibitors on it.
THANK YOU KRACKA, not just another troll answer
It is a race motor that is run HARD, and I have oil changes after every race weekend. We do get quite a bit of blow though into the catch can, 25-100ml oil/vapor/ethanol every 20min race. Not really worried about it too much. Talking with other racers they are even starting to have problems with other Race gasses that contain smaller % of ethanol eating pumps, tank, oil pan.
Just seeing if we have anyone else on the forum found the same problem of Ethanol eating their oil pan
.
I think i'm going to phone my contact at Moroso and see about getting a new oil pan.

Anyhow, I do agree that if you're running E85 (or not, I mean it is an Evo) you should not follow the 5k oil change recommendation. Consistent and frequent maintenance is what keeps high performance cars running at their best
I have put a new oil pan in each time I built my motor and so far I have never seen signs of rust on them, just specs of metal from failed motors lol. I have run E85 for almost 25k miles and nothing like this has popped up for me.
I doubt its rusting from E85. Moroso's is pricey but I'd totally rock it, baffled yum.
