Minor Fuel Service?

What is that all about? Stealership wants me to pay $120 just for it when it doesn't sound complicated at all. Anyone know what its about? and can I do it myself or must do at stealership?

I thought I saw this post earlier with good responses..maybe it was on the "other" site?

sounds like just a additive in your gas to clean the injectors. IMO not worth it.

That's all they said that's why I am asking here. All they said was you're due for minor fuel service and cost to do it will be $120.

Oh ok its likely a fuel filter and possibly as stated some type of cleaner. I doubt they'll even use any type of additive or cleaner. Maybe a fuel filter and a brief look at fuel system. Personally I would do this on my own, however, if you don't feel competent enough in doing so just let them do it.

No need as long as you use quality gas with good additives such as Shell, Chevron, or BP.

Yeah I only go to shell v-power. So I don't have to worry about it?

Quality gasoline (especially premium) has more than enough detergents and additives to keep your entire fuel system clean for the life of the car.

That's one of those profit-driver services most shops will offer to everyone.

I know shell is good gas and that's usually where I go. I have heard that it's best to find a station with a seperate pump for each grade of gas. The only shell shations around me have one pump for all grades. I now go to 7eleven because of that reason. Is it true or is it still best to use gas from shell and possibly get some left over 87 octane from the previous customer?

Yeah I know what you mean... There is only one shell here that I know of has seperate pumps of the v-power and other grades but it's really far...
