I haven't put on a front plate on any of my cars since I got my first one, never gotten pulled over. When I bought my evo at don herring in dallas the dealer asked if I wanted the plate bracket installed and he told me that you can get "stopped" by a cop for not having one, but they can't write a ticket. Of course I told the dealer no, and have a nice clean front end on my ww

In oregon it's like an $80 fine if they want to be a jerk about it. Had no plate on my VIII for almost a year and only got pulled over once, he let me go. In my X I got pulled over once so far, only had it since March got a 15 minute lecture about front plate, dark tint, black wheels on a black car, loud exhaust, blah blah blah. But he told me 4-5 times that he wasn't stereotyping me though. Then he let me go. Did the same as above told him there is no where to mount it. He walked to the front of the car (hand on his gun) and looked at it said I'm sure you can get a mount from the dealership.

The wife's MR already had the mount on it when I bought it so I'll just leave it there.

So you stationed here now? Were you pulled over by SAPD on your way to Ft Sam or did one of the dingleberry MP's pull you over on post?
I just got here, in-processing, I start permissive TDY and begin looking for a house tomorrow.

I got pulled over on post by a civilian MP.

What's up for this week? I've heard about a Friday night meet at Genghis, but that's about it. There has also been some talk on SAI about Wednesday night meets, but I hear they kinda suck.

had the car since 08, told the dealership if it had the holes drilled I would not purchase the car.

I get pulled over randomly they ask all sort of questions about the car " how much boost ya run, how fast have you gone at the track" etc. then they say "only reason I pulled ya over was for your limo tint and no front plate, here is a warning see ya later."

My wife in my s2000 has no plate gets pulled over in the first year of ownership and is given a ticket for no front plate. so yea, go figure.

I had a 2G DSM in Northern California/Texas and Evo X in Texas without front plates. The Evo was never drilled for a front plate to begin with.

I was pulled over occasionally in Cali and received one fix it ticket. I Velcroed the plate to the bumper and went to have the ticket signed off - they never even looked to see if I fixed it. With the Evo, I have been pulled over once so far in the 16 months Ive owned it. It was the evening of July 4th and I had a car load of people. I think they were checking to see if I had been drinking. (I hadnt) I received a written warning for the plate and that is it. While the warning was being written, the other cop circled my car asking me all sorts of questions about it. I couldnt tell if he was really interested or trying to fish something out of me. I played dumb either way.

I have no plans to put a plate on the car and I refuse to drill the bumper. If it really comes down do it, Ill do the tow hook mounted plate.

I'm in California, I've been running no front plate for a year and a half. My brother however bought a new infiniti and was able to run all of 2 weeks before he got hassled. I think it just comes down to luck.

When I lived in TX, I would get pulled over for no front plate only in certain areas, seemed like. By the LA state line, the cops get very picky sometimes. I bit the bullet & put the front plate on. Now I live in a state with no front plate law.
