EFI Logics Memorial Track Day - Poconos North

As many of you know, EFI Logics head tuner and partner, Chris Schoen-Kiwert passed away suddenly last summer. In celebration of his contribution to the industry and many of your cars, EFI Logics is organizing a special event as a memorial to Chris Schoen-Kiewert. In conjunction with NASA Northeast, EFI Logics has arranged for a track day at Pocono North course on Tuesday, October 9th (the day after Columbus Day weekend) and has negotiated a special reduced price of $180 per car! This is an extremely low price and a great opportunity to get your car on the track. NASA is THE best and most professional organization and will have instructors at the event for those of you new to the track.

We wanted to make sure that all customers and friends of Chris had an opportunity to get their cars on track and celebrate Chris' life and contribution to our industry. 60 cars is the proposed number and at the reduced rate, will add up quickly. It will be a great time and EFI would love to see everyone at the track using their cars as intended... at speed! For those who do NOT want to track their cars, we welcome anyone else who wants to attend the meet in memory of Chris. It will be a VERY fun day.

You won't see a full track day at a great track this inexpensive any time soon so contact EFI or NASA NE and register soon. Registration is through www.nasane.com or just contact Pete at pete@efilogics.com or sales@efilogics.com if you would like to commit to tracking that day. Do not miss out on this special event.

PM me if you have questions. Let's make this a great Autumn event!

Some good questions have come up -

It's Tuesday, October 9th. The day after Columbus day so you need to simply extend the long weekend by one day. It's ok, they'll understand, especially when you tell them you can get on track for MUCH less than any other day of the year.

Sessions - you can expect at least 4 and possibly 5 sessions of about 30 minutes per session.
Run Groups - Will be by experience and total number of drivers but you can expect 3 or 4. NASA instructors will be available for HPDE 1 and 2 or anyone who wants one.

We are even planing Hyperdrives for those people who simply want a few laps in their car during lunch. There's some details about this on www.nasane.com. This will be a very comfortable event with a ton of track time. It's a great opportunity to sort out your suspension, find your driving line, learn about your car, in a very relaxed setting.

Poconos is much closer than you think. The track is no more than 2 hours from NYC, about 2.5 hours from South CT, and even less from North jersey. We expect mostly Evos and Subarus and so it should be a fun meet to just hang out as well as track day. Let us know soon.

Not sure if this is added incentive to register but I think I've found a shot of one of the tech's doing some race prep up at Poconos Raceway. I can't promise you'll receive the same level of service - there's always a chance, but only if you register.

I'll be honest, fool that I am, that I expected SOME comment or response to this event, the pictures, the girl, whatever. So, color me surprised.

That said. I see a ton of posts about guys who talk about all of their mods, their commitment to getting their cars set up just right, their questions about tweaking their suspension set up to perform better ad nauseum. How much boost, why does it break up, trying to take little videos of weird noises while they break the law on the freeway. Embarrassing really. And here we are with an easy opportunity to get on a surface where you can go as fast or slow as you want - no risk of potholes, no police, no cross traffic, no one backing out of a driveway into your passenger door. Sort out your issues, get some data, make your car better.

You need this, even if it is just to say that you have done it, that you understand what works and what doesn't on your car. Don't be that person that's dropped $20k into your car to have only really driven it secretly and furtively on some side street at night, hoping and praying the po po don't see you racing by or that some little old lady doesn't hear you single exit cat back screaming or see your flames as you shift. Get to the track, learn, experiment, and be a better driver for it. It will never be this inexpensive again.

Don't be offended - think of it as a group buy for the best mod you could ever hope to get for $180. just let me know.

It is tempting. I could sure use some professional help setting up my suspension. The thing is EFI Logics themselves would admit they don't know half as much about Evos as they do Scoobies.

They wouldn't say that, though EFI Logics has been working on Subarus longer. Your statement is, and has been for some time, incorrect. In fact, from the beginning, EFI Logics' motorsports program has included both Evos and Stis (and still does with the EFI Logics Evo X #61 and Subaru STi #27). Additionally, there are many here, many racers and a sizable number of other Evo owners that speak to and are a testament to EFI's skills and commitment to the Evo X (and 8 and 9).

Jack Laverty has forgotten more about setting up road race suspensions than most of us will ever learn (including me) whether it is an Evo or Subie.

Either way though, it's an inexpensive track day and an opportunity to remember a guy who was extremely committed to our industry regardless of the kind of car they drive.

Wish I could make it. Chris was a real nice guy and took care of my "round 1" tuning. Efi was great to deal with from start to finish. Hope you have a good turnout.

Thanks for the bump. Space is filling up for this event so don't dawdle. if you are hoping to participate let me know or contact EFi (203 748 1115) and we can hold a spot for you.

You are going to feel dumb if you are hoping to get to a track day and wait, only to spend double next spring. Get a little experience and have some fun, learn a lot.

+1

That's a great deal! I've been too busy with work to ever track my EVO.
But I have been to FATT at Summit Point Raceway with my WRX and my MR2, and they charge $250.

Pocono for $180 = Great Deal

I will write you a note for your work if it helps... This event is not to be missed.

Please note that the additional annual $45 fee for NASA has been WAIVED for this event (for those drivers that have not driven a NASA event before). You will have the benefit of NASA instructors, administration and organization but without that added cost. $180 it is, period.

OK. online registration for the October 9th event is now up. Please register here:

https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1518

If you are not currently a NASA member please register under the Hyperdrive so as to avoid the $45 NASA national annual fee. NASA NE will place you into a HPDE class prior to the event.

Again, this is you chance, your ONE chance to get on track for less than $200. The full track day cost to you is $180. Space is limited and so if you haven't already confirmed with EFI Logics directly please register now.

Thanks

this sounds like the perfect opportunity to finally hit the track! $180 sounds great! BUT about how much do u ballpark ill spend on maintenance items? my car has just under 9000 miles on it and i stretched my stock tires over 9.5'' wide gram lights. i assume it would be better to put them back on my stock wheels for this event. will i need to replace them after the event? how about brakes? am i gonna need new pads and rotors when im done? i already expect to do an oil change before and after, just looking on some insight from someone with track experience

Great questions! If this is your first time to the track I suggest there won't be much you need to do to prepare. It all depends on Howard you drive the car. I think swapping the tires would be nice as they will perform somewhat better and be a little safer. Have you rolled one on the street? As for pads and rotors, as long as you are in good shape now you'll be fine. Meaning that your rotors and pads will hold up fine unless they are quite worn. The stock rotors are, in fact, quite robust. The oil change is a good idea. If it is pretty fresh now I would just do it after, if it is time now, do it and then Again after and you'll be in great shape. So, ultimately, a single track day does not create a big maintenance list as long as you've been taking good care of the car all along.
