iPhone holder for X?

Hopefully this is the right spot for this. I'm curious if anyone as tried any of the vent mounted phone holders? I have an iPhone 5 and decided I don't want to just throw it in the cubby with all my change. I saw a few that mount to the vents but some people were saying that they didn't work with all cars. Anyone have any experience with any brands. Preferable something for an iPhone 5 but I think most are universal in that respect.

I saw this one on amazon that looked good Arkon SM410 Universal but seems a little inexpensive so wondering how it worked out? Also the reviews on it were good but some said it didn't fit the vents in their car.

Read a suggestion here that came up in a search for the proclip and it looks good but seems priced high (I know too cheap too expensive, I cry when you put it in and scream when you pull it out or however that saying goes. My manager says it to me in Spanish so I forget the translation) actually I have no problem spending the money if the proclip is "that much" better than some of the vent mount products.

I just don't want the phone popping out because of how rough the ride is and don't want the vents to snap if that could be a problem.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You can always get an AUX cable and just rest it in either the cup holders or your lap. That's what I do ... except I have a double din Kenwood DD419 that uses USB

My cup holders always seem to have something in them. Plus the phone is new. I need to get my first scratch before I can throw it in the cup holder. Between the legs works but if I have it plugged in I have at times forgot and got out of the car ripping the cable out and throwing the phone on the ground.

I originally bought the Arkon IPM515 for my 3gS. I just recently bought the iPhone5 and it still works with my phone. It works well specially with a tomtom app

You know where the awd button that is located by the E-brake is? i moved it to the left side of the steering wheel and replaced the part that normal lancers have instead. Its the perfect iphone holder. Ill try to post a pic tomorrow but just check what normal lancers look like! its pretty cool

Thanks for the info. Does the holder have padding on the side or is the iPhone up against plastic?

Edit: never mind. The website said padded. Funny last time I looked a few weeks ago I don't recall it saying padded. I ordered it. Fricken instant gratification syndrome cost me 25$ extra for over night. Almost 90 bucks for a cell phone holder! Oh well, it's worth it if it's stable. It's a good talking point for passengers. "See that phone holder? 90 bucks. Yea, made in Sweden. Special high G force, high down force plastic and adds 15 AWD HP."

I use a Tetrax Xway mount. you will need a iphone case that is solid yet flat on the back so you can attach a steel disc so the mount can work. Once on, its very good. I found this to be the best solution without being cumbersome. Review can be found here. http://blogcritics.org/scitech/artic...nics-mounting/ you can also find some more reviews on youtube.

fits most phones and it's more versatile then most phone holders.

I ended up with the proclip. I can't put a cover on an iPhone. It's blasphemy. It's the best looking phone ever produced and when I see people put covers on them I cringe. But thanks for the advice. I think even at 90$ the proclip looks to be one of the best fitting.

Why don't you Just use the door handle like I do? Works perfect and tr iPhone doesn't slip through if your using an otterbox.

It stays there during track days / and quarter mile and daily driving. And it's free

Ever try using those sticky pads you just put up on your dash, they work pretty well and make the phone more accessible. Cheers
