Hows the top end pull on a X MR ?
Interesting responses for sure... Yes Im talking about an MR in stock trim. My last car was an 06 GTO and it would pull hard at just about any speed, but always had no problem lets say cruising at 80, drop it down and floor it and it would take off & pull strong till about 140ish range. I guess its just different with NA V8s compared to FI four bangers...
My RA is nice and fun sometimes but just isnt fast enough for me and thinking about switching up to an Evo at some point.
Thanks for the feedback so far Guys

Well it would obviously pull harder than a stock ralliart. The bigger turbo alone will help do that.
But really, it's still not that impressive. You will need to get a tune and maybe a couple mods to be really impressed. A bigger turbo does wonders..

Impulse buy as well? As in all my purchases were impulse buys? No, I ordered the GT-R from the factory and have owned it since February 2009. The reason I'm selling has NOTHING to do with any of the assumptions you made. The car is everything I thought it would be, and more. It is flat out one of the fastest cars on the road, handles like no one's business, and turns the owner into an instant, "Rock Star". But I am trying to buy another house and sell my current one, and it's hard to justify having a $65K-$70K vehicle just sitting in your garage, that you only drive once or twice a week, when that money could help out with the housing situation.
Do you own, or have you owned, a GT-R? You shouldn't make such accusations based on Internet message board posts, as well as not knowing everyone's unique situations. As far as vehicles not living up to expectations, that's quite subjective. I (briefly) owned an M6, and while it's a fine machine, it didn't live up to my expectations, but that was based upon what I wanted and needed in a car. And guess what, I sold it and got an EVO! As for the launch control issue, that's been well documented, so go to NAGTROC for all the info you need. Basically it was people who were hammering the car by launching it all the time. I think any car subjected to that kind of abuse will sooner or later fail. And every year Nissan has made the GT-R faster. I'm pretty sure that after selling my house and settling into a new one, a GT-R could be part of my future again.

i'm sure for the majority of people it was not that it didn't live up to expectations lol.. probably maintenance and other financial reasons, justification for owning the car etc.. if you can just squeeze monthly payments in you probably don't have enough buffer in $$ for all the maintenance etc.. just my guess
I'll never forget when i went to look at a 2011 GT-R and this guy in a golf outfit walked in and asked the sales guy, "whats that" they said "GT-R new with 530+ HP" " guy said "hmm ill take it and lets put it on my credit card"
See he didn't even know what it was, and i say he was in his 50's the youngest..
Compared to the 5 speed gsr. It pulls up top
Conpared to super cars it's slow.
Tuned MR pulls pretty decent in 6th whereas everyone cries about how the 5spd stops pulling.
Been to 182mph in 6th @ 7400rpm stock turbo.

Horsepower is just a calculation of RPM's multiplied by the torque (times a conversion number to get the correct units) at a given RPM value. So at 6500 RPM for example, you cannot increase the hp without increasing the torque at that RPM value. Point is...hp is not independent of tq and it cannot be controlled as such.
Thats good to know.. if I get an Evo it will definitely be an MR cause I'm one of the crazy ones that likes the SST lol..
my guess is that if you can buy a GT-R your prob not financing it, or you def wouldn't be worried about cost of maintence because those factor in when it is a impulse buy becaus eyou didn't research or calculate anything.. which is why i have not yet purchased my EVO X MR yet.

I served in the Armed Forces for 20 years and started off way at the bottom, as an E-1. I know what it's like to have to make $5 last me a week and have to delay gratification. My ability to buy something like a GT-R has been based upon many years of hard work, sacrifices, setting goals, going to school at night, and working my way up the ladder of success. I did a lot of research on the GT-R before buying it. Who hadn't heard of the legendary Skyline GT-R? I knew what the maintenance costs would be. In fact, when you buy a GT-R there is a disclosure statement you have to read and acknowledge regarding, "special maintenance" (read: expensive maintenance). The point is, I knew what I was getting into. What I didn't realize was losing all the equity in my home thanks to the housing market nose diving, thanks to unscrupulous lenders and financially irresponsible buyers. And I don't see anyone giving me a bailout program. But that's why I'm selling my baby. Hopefully I can buy another at some point after getting another house.
Let's agree that this was a case of an Internet misunderstanding. Happens all the time with emails, in that you just don't know the intent of what someone is really trying to say sometimes, unless you are there in person and can see facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice. Anyway, for the guy you mentioned in the golf outfit walking into a Nissan dealership and buying a GT-R pretty much not knowing what it was (and on a credit card!), that's definitely not me. I'm in my 50's, but that's the only common link between me and that guy.

, so wouldn't be willing to trade the GT-R for a scion would ya, lol.. I have heard of some of the younger owners tho getting rid of them because of issues like people always wanting to touch it and take pictures and sit in it ect...Which brings me to a question.. All you Evo owners when you go to stores/malls, etc where do you park? In the very back away from people or does it matter? I ask this becaus ei not even had my car a good month when parked at walmart in regular spot only to come and see that some jerk ran his cart into my door leaving a dent
It's all good, we all know the internet is serious buisness, lol.. but yeah sucks about having to part ways with it, but least you got a Evo
