I have no choice but to put Regular gas!!
The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy left me no choice but to put regular gas into my X!! 4 hours of gas line, no super , no premium , only regular! I need some advice !! Thank you very much
You will be fine; the car will not blow up or anything. Just stay out of boost as much as possible. The X ecu will sort it out. There are members here who should be able to get technical about it and explain it further as my knowledge is limited on that subject.
yeah,
your ECU maps have built in protection from factory.
If your ECU sees knock or anything it will pull timing on you. If I remember right also boost is cut as well.
As long as your tunner didn't disable the failsafes you are good.. and even if he did turn them off, as long as you don't boost you will be ok.
Part throttle here and there is ok , but a full WOT pull I would stay away from it until you get 2-3 cycles of 93 octane in your car.

Good luck, the gas situation should be sorted out by Wednesday. Today there were no lines and stations had either 87 only or another would have 93 only. Luckily I have dual map for E85 and I always have a 5-10 gallons at home as a just incase.
But either way, don't boost and you will be fine.
You could always try to find 93 or even 100 to dilute the 87. I know the 100 by me is not sold out,LOL
Good luck again.
And Don't boost!!!!

As everyone else stated, stay out of boost, granny shift and you will be fine. Just remember when you do get 93 octane again, it will take several full tanks of gas to get the crappy 87 out of the mix.
