Winter Tires & SoCal

I have a question on how to make proper use of these tires if that makes sense. If I buy a set of specific winter tires would it be safe to drive them from SoCal to Big Bear/Mammoth and back? I know it's probably just a silly question. However, I just want to make sure its okay to drive the winter tires a few hundred miles on tarmac.

You can drive hundreds of miles on Tarmac on snow tires. Hell, you can drive thousands of miles if you like. Tens of thousands. It's not like the tires will spontaneously implode if there's no snow on the ground.

With reason though. You need to remember snow tires are soft and don't handle heat too well so they'll wear out rather quickly on warm dry tarmac.

I also would definitely not recommend any type of performance driving while you're off the snow too. Just drive around conservatively and don't overdrive the tires because they aren't meant for that sort of thing.
