So this is my first manual car but when driving in traffic is there a method you guys use? I hate it especially when its traffic on a slight uphill.

Trying to drive super slow makes it kinda jerky when going less than 5mph.

On uphills, learn to hold the car in place with the hand-brake, keeping your feet on the gas and clutch. This is generally a good skill to have. Otherwise, I have no great insights for you.

I sure that you doing everything right what everyone with a proper manual goes through and I just end up getting some serious leg exercise by the time I get to work and home.

Practice makes perfect...you'll get smoother as you gain experience in the car.

Honestly the biggest thing I've learned is to not move every time the person in front of you moves. Doing this will just leave you disgusted with the person in front of you.

Most people who drive automatics do not know how or refuse to drive without constantly braking.

There generally isnt much you can do, its a standard car and you're up a hill. I don't even bother with the handbrake, just work the pedals accordingly. Advice for the 5mph jerkyness, well before you hit that jerk, i apply clutch so it goes into neutral, and ill get back on the gas and slowly let off the clutch as needed to get it past that jerk mark, and repeat the process when needed

QFT, they pick their foot off the brake and let the car move on it's own.

The best way to deal with slow traffic is give yourself plenty of room and keep trying to move at a pace slow enough to just keep yourself moving at minimal throttle.

However, lots of douchebags will take advantage of the distance and cut you off...but when the car you're following hits the brakes and the car cutting you have has to slam the brakes in paranoia you get to hang back and laugh.

My solution, instead of taking the boring, congested route, take the fun, traffic-free, backroad route. You'll enjoy your evo a lot more this way and you'll feel stress free from not having to deal with as many idiot drivers

If there's a stop light with traffic backing up down a hill I approach as slowly as possible (without causing an obstruction) with the hope that the traffic will move before I have to stop. I also avoid routes that I know I will likely have to hill start.

Apart that it's all about learning how to do it through experience.

TBH all you have to do is use the E-brake in conjunction with the gas and clutch. So left foot releasing clutch. Right hand releasing E-brake. Right foot throttle.

Practice makes purfect
