How to brake boost?
Why would you recamend a cobalt turbo over an EVO to start with? The EVO is a much easier car to drive. MY wife just traded in her cobalt ss and that thing was a nightmare to drive. The torque steer was ridiculass in that car and if is far from easy to mod.
Getting back to the original topic, if I may....
I don't think that anyone has actually given the OP the critical piece of advice: first you learn to left-foot brake consistently; then you learn to use this skill to build boost before you need it. Jumping straight to LFBing for boost before you have trained your left foot to be good at just braking is just asking for trouble.

I agree, for a lot of people who are not used to it, you will slam the brake when in fact you meant to hit the clutch. Result = but not limited to... face into steering wheel, whiplash, car crash, breaking your car, looking like a idiot, feeling like an idiot.
If you're going to drive your car hard, learn and master the techniques of how to drive first

Well said. Also pointing out that the Cobal SS is Supercharged, until more recent years I know they were talking about switching to a turbo. 2nd if you want a FWD turbo why not just be a dirty Honda boy and turbo your civic or integra, or buy a SRT-4. All of the above are a waste of money unless all you want to do is go fast in a straight line, which is what most Americans are only capable of these days, even then sadly they somehow F-it-up.
Just for fun imagine 2 cars traveling at the same rate of speed. One is brake boosting and one is not. In lamans terms one is sitting at 20-25-35 psi whatever he wishes and the other is in vacuum. If they both take off at the same time, the one that is brake boosting is already at full boost while the other car will still have to spool up giving the advantage to the brake booster.
While proper setups and good tunes are crucial, brake boosting will benefit.
Think of brake boosting as the equivalent to a supercharged cars throttle response. It will reduce or completely get rid of turbo lag

it's easier on the brakes to just down shift.
Then you loose time/distance when you have to shift whereas if you brake boost you have a much wider power band and you are already at full boost... Downshifting doesn't always work, its good for cornering, or just a spirited take off from a roll, but if your gonna race you want fewest shifts possible, assuming your going in a straight line.

08-10 Cobalt SS are Turbo 260hp-260tq and give the evo a run for its money aroun the Nürburgring ring. The SS My wife traded in had 290hp-350tq with factory GMS1 tune.
