Got it. And before anyone suggests it, pulling fuses etc will not solve this as the SRS ECU has back-up power.

Any Ford dealers nearby? I've seen several suggestions that the SRS ECU in an USDM EVO is compatible with Ford, just like the cap on the brake reservoir. Otherwise, it's an expensive tool that you need. I don't know if a Lexia has a SRS reset option. I'll look some more tonight, if you'd like.

If a Ford dealer can't do it, the cheapest tool that I'm 99% sure can clear an SRS light is the MaxiDiag JP701. They are all over eBay, both over here and over there. Under $200 US.

But I'm still betting your Lexia can do it, depending on software. Have you tried this software? http://victor520.onsugar.com/Lexia-3...nload-24732712 (Note that it's free from this site.)

It seems that I've seen something like Occupant Classificate Module option somewhere in ETACS settings. Anyway if Euro Lancers don't have that passenger weight sensor, it should be possible to solve the issue in a software way.

BTW side airbags could be disabled as well AFAIK.

UPD found something:

Thanks for chiming in. But I don't think that the OP wants to disable the system (although I should let him speak for himself). I think he just want to clear the light while keeping as much of the system as still remains in the car (which is everything except for the seat air-bags).

In other words, let's assume that the OP has grounded off the connectors for the missing seat air-bags (via 3.3 Ohm resistors) and has hooked up the harness for the passenger weight sensor and driver seat-position sensor to his new SRS control unit. So all he needs to do is trigger a reset. Do you know if he can do this using a Lexia 3 and, if so, which software he needs?

Yes, DiagBox software is capable of doing it using "Lexia" cable (Chinese clone of Actia Evolution XS).

My idea was if you don't have side bags why should you cheat SRS ECU to think they're still in? Just let it know what's installed, I'm pretty sure airbag/seatbelt pre-tensioner deployment algorithm would be different, SRS ECU won't fail trying to save you blowing up missing airbags.

Though I do not know if side airbags settings are related to seat bags or a curtain ones.

Got it. That's probably even better. But the key to your reply is the Yes, he can reset the system with his Lexia, regardless of how he deals with the missing seat air-bags. Thanks!

Well, only if his fake airbags successfully pass SRS diag performed each time he switches ignition on.
Otherwise any error reset won't work - just like as for CEL errors.

Of that part I'm very confident. People have been using 3.3 Ohm resistors to fool the SRS ECU into thinking the seat air-bags are still present for years (when they swap in better seats); we know that this works. The key - which many people forget to do - is to unplug the battery when swapping the seats and installing the resistors. If you power up the entire system with open circuits to the seat air-bags, you will need a reset to clear the resulting code. That a Lexia with the right software will do a reset without a visit to the dealer is great news to more than just the OP.

Can you verify that the software to which I linked above is what the OP needs? He has a Lexia 3, but no software.

I'd recommend DiagBox 6.20+

Screenshots above are from a custom software still being developed and thus not yet available.

Excellent. Thanks. To anyone who cares: a quick google will locate several places to download cracked versions of DiagBox 6.20. Whether you do so, I leave to you and your conscience.

Not doable with Lexia and DiagBox... I can't find the function anywhere - I looked through the whole thing 10 times...

You cannot find airbag/OCM/ORC related settings in DiagBox?
