Potential Evo X Owner...

Hey guys, my names Andre from MA, my car recently a 2002 audi a4 decided to go on me... so i am in the market for a newer car... So i'm considering an Evo X, or 04-06 STi , I know that both the STi and Evo are great sport cars and no matter what would require constant maintenance, but my question is how reliable is the Evo X compred to the older subies? i plan on buying a used one, anything i should keep an eye out for? sorry if this is in the wrong spot just looking for some quick answers.

As to your question. Search is your friend as there are a number of similar posts as to what is good and bad about the Evo X. You might look for the benefits of certain years and models.

ive been searching, i guess its since the car is so new, there isn't much to talk about, but so far in terms of keeping both cars stock, the evo seems more reliable

Maybe I'm a good person to put in input on this. My previous ride was an 05' STi, and currently an 11 Evo X GSR.

Here's the short part of it.
Evo (Pros):
--I find the Evo handles MUCH better (comparing stock Evo suspension to fully coilovers on the STi)
--Evo is years newer with lower mileage (100k compared to 40miles when I bought the Evo)
--Evo looks better
--Leather interior in my Evo seems really great (and not blue /win)
--Evo makes a lot more power with less money put into mods

Evo (Cons):
--Trunk space sucks
--Expensive car with services (but not really much different than the STi, just cheaper than a typical car)

STi (pros)
-- Subie rumble. Nothing beats the Subie turbo-back exhausts sound
-- Low end torque with the 2.5L
-- Felt like the STi stood out more, specially with the massive hood scoop and square wing

STi (cons)
-- Expensive to do any engine building
-- Less advanced AWD

I went from this:

thanks for your input guys! my budget is under 25k... and under 100k miles, as for the services my cousin is a dealer and does all kinds of work so it shouldn't be horrible... did my timing belt on my audi for 80 bux compared to 1g..., not looking into tuning anything ridiculous until after college. stock with an exhaust will suffice for me.

I dont find my EVO needing `constant maintenance`, just regular service. So far it has been incredibly reliable....and I hear that is the norm.

create an account on a site like Flickr and then upload them to there, then grab the URL from the uploaded picture and put it as an IMG tag here.

I host on my own server at home, but same concept.
