Switch From Test Pipe To HFC w/o New Tune?

Just as it says can I switch out my AMS test pipe to a HFC without having the car retuned?

Will I just see a loss in power, or will this somehow be harmful to the car?

Not sure if it matters, but the only other mods on the car are an intake and a 3 port EBCS.

Its got a dynotune on it now if that changes anything. I expect to see loss of course and I'm fine with that...IF it is safe without adjusting the tune.

I would get tuned. HFC will increase back pressure. I would not risk it.

Thanks. What will a tuner change to compensate for the increased pressure?

You will most likely need a tune or a few adjustment when switching from a test pipe to HFC.

What about the other way around, do I need a new tune again if I switch from HFC to Test Pipe ?

How long can you safely drive for before getting a tune? b/c it's not always possible to get the TP installed the day before the tune.

I think you would be fine putting around town for a few days if you kept your right foot out of it. There isn't a big difference between a HFC and a test pipe for normal driving. When in doubt, call your tuner and ask them. You could always have them install it if necessary. It is a really quick job that shouldn't cost you a whole lot. Hell I can do it on jack stands in an hour assuming the bolts aren't super rusted together (and I'm very slow when it comes to car work).
