Cmc recall that came with problems...
I just got the clutch master cylinder recall done yesterday and everything felt fine. The clutch engaged much lower off the ground than before. However now I have a problem! When the car is idle it sputters and the rpms hover up and down from 500 to 750 rpm. It shakes like it's about to stall.! Whether it's in neutral or the clutch pushed in its constantly just going vroom vroom vroom. Also service engine light came on anyone have a clue what it might be.? Also the clutch feels like it did before I took it in.
I don't know about all that, might not even be related. But I can say that with my CMC recall, my clutch burnt out within 10,000 miles. Spent a cool $1800 on a new clutch. As far as the clutch releasing closer to the ground, that's to do with the hyrdaulic fluid. When its changed out, it has to settle and your clutch will release around the normal spot after a few hundred miles. Been through that twice. I hate a tight clutch.
Yea... It's a strange one. But it started doing that as soon as I pulled out of the dealership. I took it in this morning and they said the ses light was an o2 sensor and that it was running lean.. Idk if the clutch sticking would make it act that way like it wants to stall when it's in neutral or clutched in..?
I've had that problem for years... happens once every few months.. sitting idle waiting for the lights, rpm goes nuts.. up and down but below 1000... i sometimes give it a little rev and it gets back to normal
They disconnect the battery when doing that recall, it's likely just your ECU relearning your idle and fuel trims and will be fine after 50 miles or so. To be safe, double check that you don't have a vacuum line off somewhere that they forgot.

well i brought it home saturday and i put about 100 miles in it and it did not improve at all! if anything it got worse. whats odd is that it does its little acting up especially when the fan is off.... we checked for loose vacuum hoses but nothing was loose.
I always chocked it up to the O2 being super cold. Never happened in warm weather. So far my X has never done that and I live in the same location.
Refer to post #14 concerning the Fuel Pressure regulator hose.

First thing I did when I bought my X was zip tie that hose down.
AcidTonic: I find it interesting we drive the same 12 MGP X GSR and live in the same metro area, but I've never seen you around.

EDIT: Thinking more about it most Evo's I see are WW but I have seen another MGP X parked on 14 mile & Main in Clawson with mudflaps.... That you?
We're getting some crazy rain and flooding today. Hope your basement is alright
I'm in A^2, and hardly ever drive it up that way. Only time I go that far the family is with me, which means I'm rocking the minivan.
Mine has RA flaps and tinted tails, with a Perrin Catback.

You figure out the problem? We had a local guy take his car in for the CMC, he left with a bad maf sensor.
Did you have a tune on the car? I read some complain about the dealership flashing back on a stock tune.

Got it fixed. Apparently the mechanic left out an o-ring. Said they pinched off a vacuum hose and the car settled and idled right. So they took everything apart and put the o ring back on... Car is back to normal. Only tune I had was Ap stage 1 refresh but I uninsulated the Ap before taking it in.
