When we store the race car we add Stabil. Run the car a few minutes to pull the conditioned fuel through the car. We also drain the radiator and block, but that's only because we run water and water wetter only. We then disconnect (and pull) the battery and put it on a trickle charger. Finally, I get the car on jack stands and pull off the wheels.

Then, when you return. Fresh oil, and add a full tank of gas on top of the Stabil. Install the battery and wheels, check pressures and go.

^ I do the same thing. Only difference, is I fill the tank up, with the fuel stab, due to colder weather.

Maybe slightly higher tire pressure. Some material like carpet below the car to lessen moisture. Tank full of gas with stabil. Battery not disconnected but on maintenance charge.

Maybe leave it with the parents and and they can drive it around the block once a week or so. Seems that would be best. Don't forget to come back in one piece. Kill me some terrorists if you get the chance.

When I deployed, I fillled it up and put Stabil in. Are you putting it in storage through the military or by yourself? They actually start the car up and let it run for a while every so often which is nice.

I am storing it myself I just had the oil changed 400 miles ago, and my soon to be wife said she would start it and drive it around the block once and awhile. She doesn't like to drive it cause she knows I would be mad if it got messed up. So I guess some stabil and top the tank off and I should be good. I will change the oil first thing when I get back. I also read dryer sheets will keep the mice away if I put them in the car and around it and if you spray water and bleach around the tires it keeps the mice from climbing up the tires. Anybody vouch for this?

I've heard of the dryer sheets before, but no clue if it works. I'd think that once the scent wears off, all you're doing is providing a nice comfy bed for them! Never heard about bleach, but that does make some sense. If you know for sure mice will be a problem, you may want to consider using moth *****. (i use them for sheds, and they work) Don't put them in the car, putting around the tires shouldn't smell up the inside of your car. But will definitely smell up your garage.

I deployed for 6 months, all I did was fill up the tank and added fuel stabilizer (seafoam) and had my friend start it up every 2 weeks. Washed, detailed and waxed the outside, everything still worked great. Not even a flat spot on the tires cause he never rolled it out of the garage. (Stock size winter tires.)
